A 35-year-old lactating woman with pre-existing polyacrylamide gel (PAAG) implants for 10 years presented on numerous occasions following both her pregnancies with bilateral recurrent breast infection, pain and finally massive breast enlargement with a ruptured galactocoele necessitating surgical intervention. As the safety of PAAG for the breastfeeding baby is not known, breastfeeding with PAAG implants is not recommended.

Autoimmune syndrome induced by adjuvants (ASIA) is the spectrum of diseases in which the substances considered inert to the body induce autoimmune reactions and inflammation. Background: Polyacrylamide hydrogel (PAAG) was used as an injectable implant for augmentation mammoplasty for over 30 years, but its use was ceased due to various related complications. The only way to treat these complications is PAAG removal, but this causes breast ptosis, nipple retraction, breast asymmetry, and skin laxity.
Objectives: This article reports a new technique for breast reshaping after PAAG removal without prosthesis implantation.
