Background And Purpose: Existing research suggests that both massage and essential oils may have analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits. We investigate the benefits of the AromaTouch Hand Technique (ATHT), a procedure that combines a moderate pressure touch with the application of essential oils to the hand, in individuals with hand arthritis.
Methods And Materials: Thirty-six participants with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and/or chronic inflammation received ATHTs with either a 50/50 preparation of Deep Blue and Copaiba oil or a coconut oil placebo twice daily for 5 consecutive days. Changes in maximum flexion in finger and thumb joints, items from the Arthritis Hand Function Test, and hand pain scores were evaluated.
Results: Participants treated with the essential oil preparation required significantly less time to complete dexterity tasks and showed about 50% decrease in pain scores, increased finger strength, and significantly increased angle of maximum flexion compared to subjects treated with coconut oil.
Conclusion: The ATHT with Copaiba and Deep Blue may have ameliorative effects on hand arthritis.

Hindered tetraphenylethylene (hTPE) helicates are resolved into two left-handed (M) and right-handed (P) isomers by linkage and removal of chiral auxiliary (1,2,5)-menthol, furnishing gram-scale hTPE enantiomers via flash silica column chromatography. hTPE helicate enantiomers bearing electron-accepting cyano and electron-donating triphenylamine groups can emit deep-blue CPL signals with a fluorescence quantum yield surpassing 50%. Full-color and white-light emission were achieved by blending them with dyes in a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) film.

In this study, a sensitive diagnosis and spontaneously photocatalytic therapy of cancer based on chemiluminescence (CL) and nanozyme was studied. Briefly, carbon nitride-supported copper nanoparticles (CuCNs) loaded with luminol (CuCN-L) were utilized to develop a microneedle patch (CuCN-L/MN). The CuCN-L probe could target overexpressed HO in the TME and actively emit CL to achieve cancer cell imaging for diagnosis.

A novel and efficient strategy for the direct synthesis of 3-arylthioquinoline derivatives via radical induced tandem cyclization of propargylamines with diaryl disulfides was developed. This protocol undergoes a cascade sulfuration/ cyclization/ oxidation/ aromatization pathway to afford the desired products in a broad substrate scope using readily available starting materials under mild conditions. Based on this strategy, we further modified 3-arylquinolines to obtain two novel deep blue fluorescent molecules, QLSCz and QLSTCz, with good optical properties through two-step synthesis by oxidation and electron donor modification.

A vast sum of fish waste is being annually discarded by marine fishing industries imposing serious environmental pollution concerns. However, these aquatic discarded matters are captivating sources of collagen, a fibrous protein with eminent social and economic relevance. Collagen is conventionally recovered using outdated complex processes requiring many reagents, multiple steps, and extended periods.
