The authors present the idea of the importance of studying the mechanism of biochemical reception of biologically active compounds (BAC) particularly the reception of prostaglandins after the effect of ionizing radiation on eucaryotes as a factor playing a significant role in understanding the radiation sickness pathogenesis. The perspectives of studying BAC reception are prognosticated for searching new radiomodifying agents (radioprotectors and means for treating radiation sickness).

The M6 cell: A small-field bistratified photosensitive retinal ganglion cell.

J Comp Neurol

January 2019

Department of Neuroscience and Carney Institute for Brain Science, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.

We have identified a novel, sixth type of intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cell (ipRGC) in the mouse-the M6 cell. Its spiny, highly branched dendritic arbor is bistratified, with dendrites restricted to the inner and outer margins of the inner plexiform layer, co-stratifying with the processes of other ipRGC types. We show that M6 cells are by far the most abundant ganglion cell type labeled in adult pigmented Cdh3-GFP BAC transgenic mice.

Objectives: Efforts are underway to develop advanced alcohol detection technologies suitable for use in all vehicles to prevent driving with an illegal blood alcohol concentration (BAC). Attitudes toward having this technology in all vehicles were assessed.

Methods: A nationally representative sample of people 18 and older was interviewed by telephone.

A sample of DWI (driving while impaired) offenders was studied to compare various approaches for predicting reoffenses over a 4-year period. Logistic regression yielded multivariate predictor equations that were significant statistically, but were not helpful to clinicians in assessing risk for reoffending. As a different approach, five predictor variables that were consistently correlated with reoffense status were examined to determine the cut score at which the repeat offense rate exceeded the base rate.

This paper deals with the development of a technology for making a hydrophilic gel of polyethylene oxide reception in which radiating ability is employed to cause cross-linking of polymers in a water solution. The gel of polyethylene oxide was shown to be non-toxic, contain 5-50% of polymer and be useful in composite medicinal forms along with biologically active substances including Bac. subtilis proteases.
