The efficiency of nitrogen removal and its mechanism, aquatic organism distribution characteristics and regeneration capability of zeolite from an integrated vertical-flow constructed wetland (IVFCW) for low pollution water treatment were evaluated after steady and continuous operation for eight years. After running for eight years, better than average COD and NH-N removal were observed in the IVFCW. The NH-N removal rate in this system was controlled by ammoxidation and adsorption and ion exchange of zeolite. The low total nitrogen (TN) removal efficiency was due to NO-N accumulation and zeolite desorption. In addition, this phenomenon indicated that because of poor organic carbon sources, nitrification was stronger than denitrification, consistent with the distribution of the functional genes for nitrification and denitrification. The biological activity in this system was abundant, especially that of spirogyra and navicula. The saturated adsorption capacity of zeolite was as high as 1.35 mg g with a desorption rate of <20%. There were no obvious differences among the effects of aeration, water cleaning, drained reoxygenation and steam stripping for zeolite regeneration (adsorption capacity of >50%). However, the drained reoxygenation performance of was better due to zero energy consumption and regeneration in situ.

This research is designed to enhance the physio-chemical properties, constancy, and antioxidant activities of water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions containing chia seed oil (CSO) by utilizing mung bean protein isolate (MBPI)-peach gum (PG) conjugates, which were created through the Maillard reaction (MR), as the emulsifying agents. The emulsions were prepared using MBPI-PG produced through the Maillard reaction (EMRP) at concentrations of 0.5 %, 1 %, and 1.

Background: To investigate the association between indoor ventilation frequency and symptoms of depression and anxiety in older persons.
Methods: A binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the effects of indoor ventilation frequency on depression and anxiety by using data from the 2018 Chinese longitudinal healthy longevity survey (CLHLS).
Results: A total of 9,690 older persons with an average age of (83.

Sexual mosaics in Simuliidae members have been detected at low frequencies in various locations worldwide. These phenotypic expressions are expected in very small amounts in any natural insect population and may result from inherent individual formation factors, such as hormonal or external elements, i.e.

Co-pyrolysis is an efficient approach for municipal sewage sludge (SS) treatment, facilitating the production of biochar and promoting the stabilization and removal of heavy metals, particularly when combined with chlorinated materials. This study explores the impact of pyrolysis temperatures (400 °C and 600 °C) and chlorinated additives (polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as an organic chloride source and ferric chloride (FeCl) as an inorganic chloride source) at 10% and 20% concentrations, on the yield, chemical speciation, leachability, and ecological risks of arsenic (As), chromium (Cr), and zinc (Zn) in biochar derived from SS. The results revealed that increasing the pyrolysis temperature from 400 to 600 °C significantly reduced biochar yield due to enhanced volatilization of organic components, as well as the removal of heavy metals in interaction with chlorinated materials.

Nowadays rice has become one of the world's staple foods. Rice in southern China is also a staple food for everyone, however, with the development of China's industrialization model, many industrial areas may be contaminated by heavy metals, leading to contamination of the agricultural areas. With the development of recent years, Nanning has become a heavily industrial development area, and rice is also a favourite staple food.
