  • Various analytical techniques confirmed the formation of the complex, suggesting that butachlor is fully encapsulated in the HP-β-CD cavity.
  • The inclusion complex improved herbicidal effectiveness and reduced toxicity to aquatic life, highlighting its potential for creating eco-friendly herbicide formulations.

Article Abstract

A water-soluble inclusion complex for butachlor was prepared by complexation with (2-hydroxypropyl)-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD). Phase solubility results indicated a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio with an apparent stability constant of 864.3 M in the obtained solid complex. The formation of the complex was confirmed by H nuclear magnetic resonance, Fourier transform infrared, and differential scanning calorimetry spectra. Coupled with the molecular docking results, butachlor was considered to be completely included in HP-β-CD cavity. Butachlor complexation with HP-β-CD decreased its adsorption capacity and enhanced its mobility in soil. The inclusion complex displayed better herbicidal activities than free butachlor. The 96 h median lethal concentration values of the inclusion complex and free butachlor was 2.30 and 0.65 mg L, respectively, for zebrafish, indicating that the complexation could significantly reduce toxicity to fishes. The present study provides an approach to develop environment-friendly formulations using CDs for herbicides.

Objective: Chronic cough poses diagnostic and treatment challenges due to its often multifactorial nature. Chronic cough associated with laryngeal hypersensitivity is linked to sensory neuropathy of the superior laryngeal nerve and can be complex to manage. Superior laryngeal nerve (SLN) blocks are increasingly being utilized by laryngologists to treat refractory chronic cough with the intent of reducing inflammation and nerve hypersensitivity.

Objectives: To evaluate recent advances in the automatic multimodal registration of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and intraoral scans (IOS) and their clinical significance in dentistry.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in October 2024 across the PubMed, Web of Science, and IEEE Xplore databases, including studies that were published in the past decade. The inclusion criteria were as follows: English-language studies, randomized and nonrandomized controlled trials, cohort studies, case-control studies, cross-sectional studies, and retrospective studies.

This article presents a conceptual analysis of the contemporary understanding of NURSING in Australia and proposes strategies for decolonisation. Through historical reflection and the lens of cultural safety and critical race theory, it examines some conditions which make up this concept, including "Florence Nightingale-influenced practices," "intellectual practitioners," and "whiteness in nursing." This analysis aims to identify conditions which we take to be necessary for the folk concept of NURSING to be satisfied and which result in negative outcomes.

Background And Objective: Older adult refugees from Burma face unique challenges in third-country resettlement, yet their experiences are often overlooked in research and policy. This scoping review aims to examine the literature on refugees aged 45 and older from Burma in third-country resettlement contexts, identify factors contributing to successful integration, and elucidate the unique challenges they encounter.

Research Design And Methods: We systematically searched seven databases using Arksey and O'Malley's framework.
