Evaluating patients with adult-onset gait instability can pose diagnostic challenges. In this case, a 62-year-old Ashkenazi Jewish woman with a history of surgically corrected hammer toes presented with chronic progressive lower extremity weakness, sensory impairment, and gait instability. Subsequently, the patient developed urinary urgency and mild cognitive difficulties.

Solitary fibrous tumors are rare and typically benign fibroblastic neoplasms with a mean age of onset ranging from 60 to 70 years. Solitary fibrous tumors may arise anywhere within the body, however the pleura is the most common site of origin for these tumors, with approximately 30% of tumors arising from the pleura. In this report we highlight the case of a 62-year-old woman who presented with gradually progressive left sided chest pain that was eventually diagnosed as a pleural SFT.

Atherosclerosis remains the most common cause of these aneurysms, with Kawasaki Disease being implicated in the Asian population. Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a self-limited, idiopathic, non-neoplastic disorder characterized by the proliferation of phagocytic histiocytes, which can mimic malignant lymphoproliferative disease. Cases of RDD most commonly present as bilateral painless cervical lymphadenopathy, with lesser involvement of the axilla, inguinal, and mediastinal lymph nodes. We present the case of a 62-year-old woman with a history of endometrial serous carcinoma who underwent evaluation at a dedicated breast imaging department after positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) revealed breast masses and axillary nodes with increased uptake of fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG).
