The development of epoxy thermosets from renewable resources is of paramount importance in a sustainable development context. In this paper, a novel bio-based epoxy monomer derived from limonene was synthesized without epichlorohydrine and characterized. In fact, this paper depicts the synthesis of bis-limonene oxide (bis-LO). However, intern epoxy rings generally exhibit a poor reactivity and allow reaction with anhydride. Therefore, we used a reaction model with hexahydro-4-methylphthalic anhydride to compare reactivity of terminal and interepoxy functions. We also studied the influence of methyl group on intern epoxy functions. Furthermore, the influence of epoxy:anhydride stoichiometry and initiator amount was studied. These studies allow to propose an optimized formulation of bis-LO. Finally, a bis-LO-based thermoset was obtained and characterized.

Objective: In general, proximal restorations of primary molars fracture, so it is vital to study the new materials that could solve this problem. Hence, the present trial assessed the success of occluso-proximal atraumatic restorative treatment (ART) restorations using silorane and glass ionomer cement (GIC) in carious primary molars for a period of 2 years.
Materials And Methods: One hundred and ninety-two children between the age group of 4 and 9 years were randomly allocated to GIC or silorane.

This article explores the concept of generating a porous anodic layer on the surface of a metallic component to host a phase change material (PCM) aiming to reduce the peak temperatures that the host structure will experience. The conditions to fabricate a porous anodic layer on top of an aluminum substrate were determined through varying anodization conditions: solution concentration, voltage employed, and anodization times. Pore sizes were characterized using scanning electron microscopy.

Introduction: A combustible cigarette is a significant source of acrylamide, which is associated with numerous adverse effects. Electronic cigarette (e‑cigarette) is an emerging smoking device with uncertain health effects. OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to explore the exposure risks of acrylamide (AA) by measuring biomarkers, hemoglobinadducts of AA (HbAA) and of glycidamide (HbGA), in serum samples of the general adult population with regard to different smoking status (smoking vs nonsmoking).

It is well established that dramatic increases in conductivity occur upon the addition of conductive filler materials to highly resistive polymeric matrices in experimental settings. However, the mechanisms responsible for the observed behavior at low filler loadings, below theoretical percolation limits, of even high aspect ratio fillers such as carbon nanotubes (CNT) are not completely understood. In this study, conductive composites were fabricated using CNT bundles dispersed in epoxy resins at diverse loadings, using different dispersion and curing protocols.
