The oxonitridocarbidosilicates REBa[SiONC]:Eu ( RE = Lu, Y) were synthesized by carbothermal reactions starting from REO, graphite, BaSiN, Si(NH), and EuO. The crystal structure of LuBa[SiONC]:Eu was elucidated on a submicron-sized single crystal by a combination of transmission electron microscopy and microfocused synchrotron radiation. The compound crystallizes in trigonal space group P3 (no. 143) with a = 16.297(4) Å, c = 6.001(2) Å, and Z = 3 ( R1 = 0.0332, wR2 = 0.0834, GoF = 1.034). According to Rietveld refinements on powder X-ray diffraction data, YBa[SiONC]:Eu is isotypic with a = 16.41190(6) Å and c = 6.03909(3) Å. The crystal structures are built up of vertex-sharing SiC(O/N) tetrahedra forming star-shaped units [C(Si(O/N))] with carbon atoms in fourfold bridging positions. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and CHNS analysis correspond to the sum formula, lattice energy, and charge distribution calculations support the assignment of O/N/C atoms. When excited with UV to blue light, Eu-doped samples show green luminescence for RE = Lu (λ ≈ 538 nm, full width at half-maximum (fwhm) ≈ 3600 cm) and yellow emission in the case of RE = Y (λ ≈ 556 nm, fwhm ≈ 4085 cm).

Synthesis of Large-Area Single-Layer Graphene Using Refined Cooking Palm Oil on Copper Substrate by Spray Injector-Assisted CVD.

Nanoscale Res Lett

April 2019

Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, 54100, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

We present a synthesis of large-area single-layer graphene on copper substrate using a refined cooking palm oil, a natural single carbon source, by a home-made spray injector-assisted chemical vapor deposition system. The effects of the distance between spray nozzle and substrate, and growth temperature are studied. From Raman mapping analysis, shorter distance of 1 cm and temperature of around 950 °C lead to the growth of large-area single-layer graphene with a coverage up to 97% of the measured area size of 6400 μm.

Purpose: To assess and compare the open beam and multi-leaf collimator modeling of Pinnacle, Ecilpse (AAA and Acuros) and RayStation planning systems.

Method And Materials: The 6MV photon beam of a Varian TrueBeam with Millennium 120 MLC was used for this study. Measurements made with combinations of ion chamber, radiochromic film, and diodes in water and plastic phantoms.

Rationale: Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a complex disease that leads to a localized dilation of the infrarenal aorta, the rupture of which is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Animal models of AAA can be used to study how changes in the microstructural and biomechanical behavior of aortic tissues develop as disease progresses in these animals. We chose here to investigate the effect of angiotensin II (AngII) in C57BL/6 mice as a first step towards understanding how such changes occur in the established ApoE(-/-) AngII infused mouse model of AAA.

The dosimetric leaf gap (DLG) is a parameter used by Eclipse to model the rounded leaf ends of Varian MLCs. The DLGs were determined for the Millennium (M120) and High-Definition (HD120) model MLCs and taken as the difference between measured (0.6mm diode, IBA) and nominal MLC-defined profile FWHM values.
