Objective: Primary intraventricular hemorrhage (PIVH) is a rare type of neurologic disorder and remains a challenge for cerebrovascular surgeons. This study intended to investigate the factors associated with neurosurgical intervention and its impact on outcome after PIVH.
Methods: We retrospectively included consecutive patients with PIVH admitted to at a single tertiary academic medical center in China.
Objective: Ependymomas, rare neuroglial tumors originating from ependymal cells, can occur in the CNS and typically affect the brain's ventricles or spinal cord. Prognosis is influenced by tumor grade, location, resection extent, and preoperative Karnofsky Performance Status Scale (KPSS) scores. This study evaluates clinical features, treatment outcomes, and factors affecting prognosis in patients with intracranial ependymomas.

Background: Premature births has imposed substantial burdens on medical resources. Consequently, a specialized team was established and a model focused on early intervention, namely the Delivery Room Intensive Care Unit (DICU) emphasizing "care, support, and treatment" was introduced and its impact on the morbidity and mortality outcomes of newborns was assessed. Additionally, we aimed to develop a nomogram model for predicting the risk of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in preterm infants.

Background And Objectives: Administration of intraventricular chemotherapy through Ommaya reservoir is indicated for certain forms of leptomeningeal disease. However, ventricular reservoirs carry a substantial risk of infection. The conventional approach to managing reservoir-associated infections involves removal of the reservoir and systemic antibiotic therapy, but this strategy necessitates additional procedures to remove and subsequently replace the device.

Importance: Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) has proven to be a challenging and enduring complication of prematurity. However, its association with neurodevelopment across the spectrum of IVH severity, independent of prematurity, and in the context of contemporary care remains uncertain.
Objective: To evaluate national trends in IVH diagnosis and the association with survival and neurodevelopmental outcomes at 2 years of age.
