Preventing local transmission of malaria from imported cases is crucial for achieving and maintaining malaria elimination. This study aimed to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of imported malaria cases and assess the distribution of malaria vectors in Qatar. Data from January 2016 to December 2022 on imported malaria, including demographic and epidemiological characteristics, travel-related information, and diagnostic results, were collected and analysed using descriptive statistics.

Objectives: Diabetes mellitus has been associated with greater difficulty of tracheal intubation in the operating room. This relationship has not been examined for tracheal intubation of critically ill adults. We examined whether diabetes mellitus was independently associated with the time from induction of anesthesia to intubation of the trachea among critically ill adults.

Background: Meta-analyses show that 43-79% of international travellers develop a travel-related health problems during or after journey. The aim of the present research was to analyse travel-related morbidity in travellers hospitalized at the University Centre of Maritime and Tropical Medicine in Gdynia, Poland.
Material And Methods: This retrospective study was based on the analysis of medical records of 159 Polish patients hospitalized at the Department of Tropical and Parasitic Diseases between January and December 2023.

Objective: To determine procedural feasibility, safety, and short-term efficacy in dogs with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR) undergoing transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) with a canine-specific device.
Design: Prospective, single-arm (uncontrolled), single-institution clinical feasibility study.
Animals: Fifty client-owned dogs with severe degenerative MR operated over a 28-month period.

In 2022, the largest ever virgin soil outbreak of Japanese encephalitis (JE) occurred in Australia resulting in 45 reported human cases of JE, with seven fatalities. Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) was detected in 84 piggeries across Australia. In response, states implemented targeted vaccination programs for those individuals at the highest risk of JEV exposure.
