Background: High-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy using Iridium-192 as a radiation source is widely employed in cancer treatment to deliver concentrated radiation doses while minimizing normal tissue exposure. In this treatment, the precision with which the sealed radioisotope source is delivered significantly impacts clinical outcomes.

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of a new four-dimensional (4D) in vivo source tracking and treatment verification system for HDR brachytherapy using a patient-specific approach.

Individuals in the prodromal phase of Parkinson's disease (PD) exhibit significant heterogeneity and can be divided into distinct subtypes based on clinical symptoms, pathological mechanisms, and brain network patterns. However, little has been done regarding the valid subtyping of prodromal PD, which hinders the early diagnosis of PD. Therefore, we aimed to identify the subtypes of prodromal PD using the brain radiomics-based network and examine the unique patterns linked to the clinical presentations of each subtype.

In this study, we developed an Evidential Ensemble Neural Network based on Deep learning and Diffusion MRI, namely DDEvENet, for anatomical brain parcellation. The key innovation of DDEvENet is the design of an evidential deep learning framework to quantify predictive uncertainty at each voxel during a single inference. To do so, we design an evidence-based ensemble learning framework for uncertainty-aware parcellation to leverage the multiple dMRI parameters derived from diffusion MRI.

Hepatic arterial infusion therapy involves surgically implanting a subcutaneous hepatic arterial infusion pump with the catheter tip at the hepatic artery. This pump directly delivers chemotherapy to the liver, which may reduce systemic toxicity, improve resectability, and treat unresectable hepatic lesions. This therapy is used in primary or metastatic hepatic malignancies.

Anatomic Approach to Fetal Hydrocephalus.

Radiographics

February 2025

From the Departments of Radiology and Imaging Sciences (A.M.G., P.J.W., A.M.K.) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (S.E.D.), University of Utah Health, 30 N Mario Capecchi Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84112; and University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah (J.N.C.).

Hydrocephalus is an imprecise term and refers to the imbalance of brain parenchyma and cerebral spinal fluid in the cranial vault. Ventriculomegaly, or enlargement of the ventricular system, is often the more precise term and is therefore preferred. Appropriate imaging and measurement techniques are critical to detect ventriculomegaly and grade its severity.
