A patient is discussed who had angiosarcoma of her lymphedematous right breast develop four years after segmental mastectomy for infiltrating ductal carcinoma. The lymphedema developed and persisted after an indolent and recurrent postoperative infection. The possibility that the second malignancy is a consequence of the chronic lymphedema, similar to the angiosarcomas of lymphedematous extremities after radical mastectomy, is cautiously entertained. This hypothesis is worthy of consideration as more breast conservation surgery is being done, with or without adjuvant radiation therapy, and accumulating evidence suggests that lymphedema of the breast is a common complication of surgery followed by radiation.

Objectives: To evaluate central quadrantectomy and nipple resection with areola preservation (CQ-NR-AP) as a new reconstructive oncoplastic technique Versus Grisotti flap mammoplasty (GFM) in central malignant tumors of the breast extending to the nipple, in terms of time procedures, breast symmetry, patient satisfaction, postoperative complications, and local recurrence.
Patients And Methods: The current study is a single-blind, single-center, randomized, controlled trial that was performed between May 2018 and May 2023 in the breast surgery unit of University Hospitals. This trial involved 40 individuals who had central breast lesions that extended to the nipple and were monitored for two years following surgery.

Accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) represents a valid option for adjuvant therapy of selected early breast cancer (BC). This single-institution prospective randomized study compares the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) between women treated with the highly conformal-external beam APBI technique and those with the more commonly used moderately hypofractionated whole breast irradiation (hypo-WBI).
