We prepare three-dimensional honeycomb-like CuCoO nanosheet arrays supported by Ni foam via electrochemical codeposition of cobalt and copper hydroxides on Ni foam followed by thermal oxidation. The codeposition with Cu changes the morphology of the cobalt hydroxide deposit to form honeycomb-like nanostructures, significantly decreasing the onset potential for oxygen evolution. The CuCoO anode displays an exceptionally low overpotential of 290 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm in 1 M KOH, and an anion-exchange membrane water electrolysis cell employing the above anode achieves a current density of 100 mA cm at 1.68 V in 0.1 M KOH.

The bone is composed of solid cortical bone and honeycomb-like trabecular bone. Although the cortical bone provides the substantial mechanical strength of the bone, few studies have focused on its regeneration. As the structural and functional units of the cortical bone, osteons play critical roles in bone turnover.

Inheriting the energy storage mechanism of supercapacitors and rechargeable ion batteries, zinc ion capacitors (ZICs) greatly increase their energy density at high power without sacrificing their life span. However, sluggish kinetics and insufficient active sites for Zn storage induced by the significant mismatch of charge carriers with limited pore size hinder the efficient Zn storage and smooth application of carbonaceous cathode materials. Herein, a three-dimensional honeycomb-like porous carbon network (HPCN) was fabricated, which can reduce the diffusion barrier for fast kinetics, produce a high-density defect area, effectively increase active sites for charge storage, and generate a high nitrogen-doping content.

In this study, 3D-printing based on fused-deposition modeling (FDM) was employed as simple and cost-effective strategy to fabricate a novel format of rotating-disk sorptive devices. As proof-of-concept, twenty organochlorine and organophosphorus pesticides were determined in water samples through rotating-disk sorptive extraction (RDSE) using honeycomb-like 3D-printed disks followed by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The devices that exhibited the best performance were comprised of polyamide + 15 % carbon fiber (PA + 15 % C) with the morphology being evaluated through X-ray microtomography.

Thermal management materials have become increasingly crucial for stretchable electronic devices and systems. Drastically different from conventional thermally conductive materials, which are applied at static conditions, thermal management materials for stretchable electronics additionally require strain-insensitive thermal conductivity, as they generally undergo cyclic deformation. However, realizing such a property remains challenging mainly because conventional thermally conductive polymer composites generally lack a mechanically guided design.

Constructing a three-dimensional (3D) structure along with Zn (002) texture selective exposure is a promising strategy to tackle the issues faced by Zn metal anodes. Herein, for the first time, we proposed an electrochemical stripping strategy to achieve controlled modification of the texture and microstructure of zinc foils in one step, building a hierarchical structure with (002) texture preferred exposed Zn (SZ). The SZ with favorable zincophilic properties not only can reduce the concentration polarization at the interface but also allow Zn to grow horizontally on the edge of the (002) texture by guiding the adsorption sites for Zn.
