Double pulsed-field gradient (dPFG) MRI is proposed as a new sensitive tool to detect and characterize tissue microstructure following diffuse axonal injury. In this study dPFG MRI was used to estimate apparent mean axon diameter in a diffuse axonal injury animal model and in healthy fixed mouse brain. Histological analysis was used to verify the presence of the injury detected by MRI.

Background: The pentaspline pulsed field ablation catheter achieves pulmonary vein isolation using 8 stacked, pose-specific applications with rotation. The morphology of pose-specific, single or double applications has not been described.
Methods: One or 2 applications were delivered to select veins and discrete atrial and ventricular sites in 9 swine.

3D iDOSY-HMBC (3D incorporated Diffusion Ordered SpectroscopY-Heteronuclear Multiple Bond Correlation) pulse sequences were modified to incorporate convection compensation element. No additional delays were required, and convection compensation was directly constructed within the existing delay periods in 3D iDOSY-HMBC pulse sequence. Convection compensation was achieved by pulsed field gradient double echo, thus avoiding the intensity loss normally related to stimulated echo methods.

This study investigates the genomic characteristics of canine and feline cefotaxime (CTX, a third-generation cephalosporin)-resistant Escherichia coli using the JVARM, Japanese Veterinary Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring System, a nationwide monitoring. In this study, whole-genome sequencing (WGS) was performed on 51 canine and 45 feline CTX-resistant E. coli isolates, with certain isolates subjected to pulsed-field gel electrophoresis with S1 nuclease for plasmid-chromosome separation.
