To study the trophic structure of fish community in Minjiang Estuary, we measured the carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios (δC and δN) of common fish species sampled in winter (January), spring (May), summer (August) and autumn (November) of 2015 by trawling, as well as seven quantitative metrics (ratios range of δN, NR; ratios range of δC, CR; total area, TA; standard ellipse area, SEAc; average distance of centroid, CD; mean nearest neighbor distance, MNND; standard deviation of nearest neighbor distance, SDNND). The results showed significant differences of δC values among all the seasons except between summer and autumn. There were significant differences of δN values between spring and other three seasons but no significant difference among summer, autumn, and winter. According to the results of the seven quantitative metrics, trophic structure of common fish community remarkably varied among the four seasons, as TA, SEAc, CR, NR, CD and MNND increased in succession from summer, autumn, winter to spring. Our results indicated that seasonal differences in trophic structure of common fish community were related to the fish spawning migration and the diversity of food source.

Pyriproxyfen (PPF) acts as a juvenile growth regulator, interfering with normal metamorphosis and blocking the development of insects into adulthood. Although the World Health Organization (WHO) considers the use of PPF at a concentration of 0.01 mg/L as unlikely to pose health risks, recent studies have unveiled potential risks associated with PPF exposure to non-target organisms.

The Southern California Bight is an ecologically important region for many local and migratory fauna. We combine bulk and compound-specific amino acid stable isotope measurements in the skeletons of proteinaceous octocorals with new regional ocean modeling system model output to explore biogeochemical changes at two locations within the Bight - Santa Cruz Basin and Santa Barbara Channel. Separated by the Channel Islands, these sites display distinct oceanographic regimes.

Herein, we report the presence of a plant paleocommunity, dominated by ferns of the family Osmundaceae, structurally preserved from the only known Mesozoic, fossiliferous geothermal deposits, from the La Matilde Formation (Middle-Upper Jurassic) in the Deseado Massif of Southern Patagonia, Argentina. A total of 13 siliceous chert blocks sampled in an area of approximately 250 m, preserving a monotypic assemblage dominated by Osmundaceae embedded within its original swampy substrate, are documented. Additional Osmundaceae and fewer ferns and conifers are present in the stratigraphically continuous, adjacent chert levels.

This study investigated the effects of various titanium nanoparticles (TiONPs) on the structure, function, and trophic levels of the wheat rhizobiome. In contrast to the typically toxic effects of small nanoparticles (~10 nm), this research focused on molecular TiO and larger nanoparticles, as follows: medium-sized (68 nm, NPs1) and large (>100 nm, NPs2). The results demonstrated significant yet diverse impacts of different TiO forms on the rhizosphere microbiota.

: Over the past 40 years since the discovery of regenerating family proteins (Reg proteins), numerous studies have highlighted their biological functions in promoting cell proliferation and resisting cell apoptosis, particularly in the regeneration and repair of pancreatic islets and exocrine glands. Successively, short peptides derived from Reg3δ and Reg3α have been employed in clinical trials, showing favorable therapeutic effects in patients with type I and type II diabetes. However, continued reports have been limited, presumably attributed to the potential side effects.
