Hance (yellow jasmine, Family Oleaceae) belongs to an important subclass of family whose biological significance is under explored. The current study pertains to isolation of various solvent extracts fractions and their anti-bacterial effects on the Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial pathogens. Ethanolic extract of Hance leaves was subjected to further partitioning using different solvents with increasing polarity to get different solvent fractions. Different extracts were analysed for their phytochemical constitutents and were evaluated for their antibacterial activity against a number of diseases causing bacteria. Diethylether fraction (DEF) showed remarkable inhibition of growth of and with inhibition zones of 17 and 19mm, respectively at 250 μg. On the other hand, the hexane fraction (HF) was found to be more effective against Gram- positive test bacterial pathogens ( and ) with inhibition zones of 19.6 mm and 17.5 mm, respectively. The phytochemical screening of different test fractions revealed the predominant presence of cardiac glycosides, sterols and terpenoids in DEF and HF, while Ethylacetate fraction (EAF) and methanol fractions (MF) were found rich in flavonoids and phenols with moderate amount of other reference metabolites.

Protein concentrate (PC) is a potential solution to address the global protein shortage, with Indonesian shortfin eel being a suitable raw material. This research investigates the impact of ultrasound pretreatment and extraction parameters on the nutritional quality of eel protein concentrate (EPC). The study involved ultrasonic pretreatment at different times and power, and solvent extraction with different solvents, temperature, and solvent-solid-feed-ratio (SSFR).

Background: Inflammation is the body's innate reaction to foreign pathogens and serves as a self-regulating mechanism. However, the immune system can mistakenly target the body's own tissues, triggering unnecessary inflammation. For millennia, medicinal plants have been employed for the treatment of diseases.

This study aimed to identify an efficient and sustainable extraction method for phenolic compounds and flavonoids from I. laurina using maceration (conventional), ultrasonic bath and probes, cup horn sonication, and microwave. It evaluated extraction parameters and assessed total phenolic compounds, flavonoids, antioxidant, and antimicrobial capacities, with annotated compounds via ESI-ToF-MS and the green analytical procedure index analysis.
