The majority of a health plan's performance and designated Star Rating is related to medication-related behavior, eg, medication adherence, medication review, and reconciliation, that are intricately related to adverse drug events (ADEs). Altered pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics owing to aging make older adults more vulnerable to ADEs like falls, fractures, hospitalizations, and mortality. Prevention of avoidable risk factors such as medication burden can help maintain quality of life.

Background: High-quality estimates of the epidemiology of the autism spectrum and the health needs of autistic people are necessary for service planners and resource allocators. Here we present the global prevalence and health burden of autism spectrum disorder from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2021 following improvements to the epidemiological data and burden estimation methods.
Methods: For GBD 2021, a systematic literature review involving searches in PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, the Global Health Data Exchange, and consultation with experts identified data on the epidemiology of autism spectrum disorder.

Symptoms typically manifest two to eight weeks after exposure to an offending agent, such as anticonvulsants and antibiotics. Clinical features include fever, morbilliform rash, eosinophilia, lymphadenopathy, and, in severe cases, multiorgan dysfunction, including interstitial nephritis, hepatitis, and pneumonitis.

Introduction: Opioids and benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed for cancer symptoms. In combination, they can increase the risk of adverse events, particularly for older adults with multimorbidity, who represent most patients with cancer. We aimed to understand cancer care providers' practices for opioid and benzodiazepine coprescribing and mitigating potential harms.

Purpose: This retrospective cohort study evaluated whether linked electronic health record (EHR) pharmacy data were adequately complete and timely to detect primary nonadherence to breast cancer adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET).
Materials And Methods: Linked EHR pharmacy data were extracted from the EHR for patients with stage 0 to III breast cancer who had their first prescription order for AET between 2016 and 2021. Patients with the first dispense event within 90 days of the prescription were classified as having sufficient or insufficient data available for early detection of primary adherence.
