Mobile Robot Positioning with Wireless Fidelity Fingerprinting and Explainable Artificial Intelligence.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2024

Computer Engineering Department, Engineering Faculty, Adnan Menderes University, 09100 Aydın, Türkiye.

Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) based positioning has gained popularity for accurate indoor robot positioning in indoor navigation. In daily life, it is a low-cost solution because Wi-Fi infrastructure is already installed in many indoor areas. In addition, unlike the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Wi-Fi is more suitable for use indoors because signal blocking, attenuation, and reflection restrictions create a unique pattern in places with many Wi-Fi transmitters, and more precise positioning can be performed than GNSS.

Background: Primary health care (PHC) systems and their successes and challenges vary between and within countries. We elucidate the role of PHC on health status and universal health coverage (UHC) by describing the achievements and challenges of PHC systems in seven countries representing the three economic levels: high-income (Belgium, Australia), middle-income (South Africa, Thailand), and low-income countries (Cambodia, Ethiopia, and Nepal).

Methods: We adopted a mixed-methods approach and (a) extracted quantitative data on the key health and universal health coverage index of countries and (b) conducted a scoping review of the PHC systems in these countries.

Vertebrate vision in dim-light environments is initiated by rod photoreceptor cells that express the photopigment rhodopsin, a G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR). To ensure efficient light capture, rhodopsin is densely packed into hundreds of membrane discs that are tightly stacked within the rod-shaped outer segment compartment. Along with its role in eliciting the visual response, rhodopsin serves as both a building block necessary for proper outer segment formation as well as a trafficking guide for a few outer segment resident membrane proteins.

Background: Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT) is the most common malignant brain tumor in infants, and more than 60% of children with ATRT die from their tumor. ATRT is associated with mutational inactivation/deletion of , a member of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, suggesting that epigenetic events play a critical role in tumor development and progression. Moreover, disruption of SWI/SNF allows unopposed activity of epigenetic repressors, which contribute to tumorigenicity.

Applications of genetic code expansion in live cells are widespread and continually emerging, yet they have been limited by their reliance on the supplementation of non-standard amino acids (nsAAs) to cell culturing media. While advances in cell-free biocatalysis are improving nsAA synthesis cost and sustainability, such processes remain reliant on multi-step processes of product isolation followed by supplementation to engineered cells. Here, we report the design of a modular and genetically encoded system that combines the steps of biosynthesis of diverse phenylalanine derivatives, which are the most frequently used family of nsAAs for genetic code expansion, and their site-specific incorporation within target proteins using a single engineered bacterial host.
