Metal-organic cages (MOCs), assembled by the coordination of metal nodes with organic ligands, offer excellent solvent dispersion, functionalization potential, and abundant binding sites, making them ideal for hybrid hydrogel synthesis. Herrin, a novel Zr-MOC/CS hybrid hydrogel was developed by crosslinking Zr-based metal-organic cages (Zr-MOC) and chitosan (CS) using dibenzaldehyde-functionalized polyethylene glycol (DF-PEG) as crosslinker, marking the first instance of incorporating Zr-MOC into a hydrogel matrix. The composite hydrogel leverages the catalytic activity of Zr-MOC to convert trace HO into hydroxyl radicals (·OH), delivering enhanced antibacterial performance.

The interaction between molybdenum carbide (MoC) nanoparticles and both flat and curved graphene surfaces, serving as models for carbon nanotubes, was investigated by means of density functional theory. A variety of MoC nanoparticles with different sizes and stoichiometries have been used to explore different adsorption sites and modes across models with different curvature degrees. On flat graphene, off-stoichiometric MoC featuring more low-coordinated Mo atoms exhibits stronger interaction and increased electron transfers from the carbide to the carbon substrate.

Obtaining informed consent in vulnerable populations like children and adolescents, is a relevant issue and raises ethical concerns. Minors are considered unable to consent to treatment, and permission from guardians is required for them. Nevertheless, several studies have been carried out on the competence of pediatric patients, with mixed results.

Hinsdale Orthopaedic Associates, a division of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, Illinois Center for Orthopaedic Research & Education, Westmont, Illinois, USA.
Background: Medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLR) and tibial tubercle osteotomy (TTO) are commonly performed surgical procedures that often have a high learning curve.
Purpose: To review the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Part II oral examination case list and the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) examination case list databases for trends in MPFLR (isolated and with concurrent TTO) and complication rates.
Study Design: Cross-sectional study; Level of evidence, 3.

Continuous professional development (CPD) is crucial for physicians to maintain and enhance their skills. In response to the changing context of CPD and health care, this study applied a design thinking approach to transform and modernise the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program. A member-wide survey and co-design sessions with physicians, CPD leaders, and patient representatives were conducted, emphasising the importance of their insights and experiences.
