Creation of a pleasing dorsal nasal profile in the anterior and lateral views requires proper analysis and planning to determine the required series of steps to accomplish the desired outcome. The widened nasal dorsum is a common esthetic complaint of the patient seeking rhinoplasty. Often patients seek an unrealistic result that, if accomplished, would leave them with a restricted nasal vault and nasal airway compromise. Nasal function must be balanced with the patient and surgeon's desire to narrow the nasal dorsum. Various techniques are used to control the width of the upper third, or bony vault, and middle third, or cartilaginous vault.

Increasing evidence suggests that interlocutors use visual communicative signals to form predictions about unfolding utterances, but there is little data on the predictive potential of facial signals in conversation. In an online experiment with virtual agents, we examine whether facial signals produced by an addressee may allow speakers to anticipate the response to a question before it is given. Participants (n = 80) viewed videos of short conversation fragments between two virtual humans.

Background: Nasal defects after skin cancer excision can often be healed by second intention in certain circumstances.
Objective: We aim to demonstrate the utility of bovine collagen xenografts in supplementing second-intention healing of a variety of nose surgical defects.
Results: Thirty-nine patients underwent Mohs micrographic surgery of the nasal tip (33%), ala (23%), dorsum (31%), sidewall (10%), and root (3%) with the application of bovine collagen xenograft.

Background: In humans, the presence of an even distribution of melanocytes within the epidermal basal layer allows for uniform pigmentation in healthy and young individuals. Moreover, despite high variability in skin colours and tones, interindividual melanocyte density variability is low. However, dogs display a high intraindividual pigmentary variability in different anatomical areas.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) injection, traditionally used for non-surgical rhinoplasty, is often associated with adverse effects such as increased nasal dorsum width. This study introduces the linear stereoscopic stack volume enhancement (LSSVE) injection technique as a solution for patients with low-profile noses, aiming to improve the nasal dorsum dimension, prevent long-term nasal widening, and address related concerns. A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical registry data of patients treated at Shanghai Phiskin Clinic from December 2020 to June 2024, who received HA injections using the LSSVE technique.
