Objective: Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) with deep venous drainage (DVD) (DAVFs-DVD) are characteristically associated with non-hemorrhagic neurological deficits, most notably cognitive impairment. Large studies have yet to thoroughly characterize these DAVFs. We conducted an analysis of the largest cohort of DAVFs-DVD to provide a comprehensive characterization of this specific subset.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship between infarct pattern, inferred stroke mechanism and risk of recurrence in patients with ischaemic stroke. The question is clinically relevant to optimise secondary stroke prevention investigations and treatment.
Design: We conducted a retrospective analysis of the dabigatran treatment of acute stroke II (DATAS II) trial (ClinicalTrials.

The arachidonic acid metabolic pathway is a classic inflammatory pathway. 12/15-lipoxygenase (LOX), a member of the lipoxygenase family that metabolizes arachidonic acid, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of numerous central nervous system (CNS) diseases. Ischemic stroke is a devastating disease in which the occlusion of cerebral arteries leads to a series of pathophysiological changes in brain tissue, triggering an inflammatory cascade within the brain that results in neuroinflammation.

Introduction: Acute large vessel occlusions (LVOs) account for up to one-third of acute ischemic strokes (AIS) and are associated with high mortality and severe functional deficits. Animal model research suggests that statins may have a protective effect on vessel wall injury during endovascular thrombectomy (EVT). We conducted a retrospective observational study to assess the impact of statin use on clinical outcomes post-EVT in AIS patients with LVOs.

Portal hypertension (PH) is the initial and main consequence of liver cirrhosis. Hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) measurement has been widely used to estimate portal pressure gradient (PPG) and detect portal hypertension. However, some clinical studies have found poor correlation between HVPG and PPG, which may lead to the misdiagnosis of portal hypertension.
