Internal and external rotation of the shoulder is often challenging to quantify in the clinic. Existing technologies, such as motion capture, can be expensive or require significant time to setup, collect data, and process and analyze the data. Other methods may rely on surveys or analog tools, which are subject to interpretation.

The bacterial type 6 secretion system (T6SS) is a toxin-injecting nanoweapon that mediates competition in plant- and animal-associated microbial communities. Bacteria can evolve de novo resistance against T6SS attacks, but resistance is far from universal in natural communities, suggesting key features of T6SS weaponry may act to limit its evolution. Here, we combine ecoevolutionary modeling and experimental evolution to examine how toxin type and multiplicity in attackers shape resistance evolution in susceptible competitors.

Backgrounds And Aims: Preclinical studies suggest that a triglyceride (TG)-independent proinflammatory action of apolipoprotein C-III (apoCIII) exists. We aimed to investigate the relationship between circulating apoCIII levels and subclinical inflammation markers across different cohorts with distinctive inflammatory patterns: patients with metabolic disorders (MDs), patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and controls. Specifically, we assessed the associations of apoCIII with acute inflammation biomarkers (e.

To prevent future ischemic strokes, especially in younger individuals, it is crucial to detect and treat direct and indirect cardioembolic sources.

Men, despite having a lower likelihood of longevity compared to women, generally exhibit better health status when they achieve longevity. The role of DNA methylation in this paradox remains unclear. We performed whole-genome bisulfite sequencing on long-lived men (LLMs), long-lived women (LLWs), younger men (YMs) and younger women (YWs) to explore specific methylation characteristics in LLMs.
