C-peptide level is recognized as an important indicator of diabetes diagnosis. A sensitive and specific double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the detection of C-peptide based on double antibody sandwich method was studied in this paper. The rabbit and hen were innunized with PLL-C-peptide and BSA-C-peptide respectively to obtain specific Yolk antibody (IgY) and polyclonal antibody used to construct the sandwich ELISA for the measurement of C-peptide. The limit of detection was 0.51 μg/mL and the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) was 3.26 μg/mL. The method developed in the study showed no evident cross-reactivity with other similar analogs. The detection standard curve of C-peptide exhibited a good linearity (R = 0.9896, n = 15). 17 types of the urine of diabetes patients on c-peptide levels compared with the hospital type of diabetes information, with a conclusion of a high consistent rate. Therefore, the methods could be selectively used for rapid screening of C-peptide in human urine, and the type of diabetes has some referential significance.

Background: To establish a dual immunoassay based on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) with stable element labeling antibodies for the simultaneous detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in serum and evaluate its performance and clinical sample validation.

Methods: The immunoassay system based on the double antibody sandwich method was established using magnetic beads as solid-phase carriers and rare earth elements europium (Eu) and samarium (Sm) as element tags. The test conditions were optimized.

Article Synopsis
  • The novel duck reovirus disease (NDRV) significantly impacts the waterfowl industry, and currently, there are no commercial vaccines available to combat this infection worldwide.
  • Researchers developed two subunit vaccine candidates, σB and σC, using an insect cell-baculovirus expression system (IC-BEVS) to create these vaccines from recombinant viruses targeting NDRV.
  • The study found that a single dose of either σB or σC protein improved immune response and overall health in ducklings better than a traditional whole virus vaccine, with the combination of both subunits showing especially strong protective effects.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the connection between vitamin B12, folate, their transporter genes, and post-stroke depression (PSD) in 173 ischemic stroke patients, finding a significant link between low vitamin B12 levels and a high incidence of PSD (48.6%).
  • - Results show that individuals with the GG genotype of the rs1801198 SNP have an increased risk of developing PSD, with odds ratios indicating a strong association after adjusting for other factors.
  • - The findings suggest that vitamin B12 levels and the rs1801198 SNP may play a role in the onset of early PSD, offering new perspectives for potential treatments.
