We report a unique case of undetectable serum levels of anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who developed ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) during in vitro fertilization (IVF). A case is described of a 28-year-old woman with clinical symptoms of PCOS and AMH serum level below analytical sensitivity (<1.0 pmol/L). After undergoing controlled ovarian stimulation, the patient developed OHSS. After follicle aspiration, seven oocytes were recovered. Three of them were used for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and fertilized, but with unsuccessful pregnancy outcome. A successful pregnancy was achieved in the second IVF/ICSI cycle with six oocytes retrieved and three embryos transferred. At 39 weeks of gestation, the patient delivered a healthy baby weighing 3930 g and 50 cm long. In conclusion, although AMH is considered a useful tool in ovarian reserve assessment and in predicting response to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, the case presented shows that AMH should not be used as an independent ovarian marker.

Background: Recent evidence has indicated that the O-glycosylated PreS2 domain of the middle HBsAg is a distinguishing characteristic that allows the identification of HBsAg of HBV Dane particles and SVPs. This study's objective was to assess the changes in serum O-glycosylated HBsAg levels in CHB patients undergoing ETV or Peg-IFNα treatment.
Methods: Our retrospective study enrolled 86 patients with genotype C CHB.
Background: Delirium is an acute state of confusion associated with adverse postoperative outcomes. Delirium is diagnosed clinically using screening tools; most cases go undetected. Identifying a delirium biomarker would allow for accurate diagnosis, application of therapies, and insight into causal pathways.

Migratory water birds are considered to be carriers of high pathogenicity avian influenza viruses (HPAIVs). In Japan, mallards are often observed during winter, and HPAIV-infected mallards often shed viruses asymptomatically. In this study, we focused on mallards as potential carriers of HPAIVs and investigated whether individual wild mallards are repeatedly infected with HPAIVs and act as HPAIV carriers multiple times within a season.

BACKGROUND Although hypomagnesemia is common in type 2 diabetes, clinical presentations with severe hypomagnesemia are rare. A number of oral blood glucose-lowering medications can reduce serum magnesium concentrations, and several severe cases have been reported in the presence of marked glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA)-associated gastrointestinal adverse effects. In the present case, an acute presentation with severe hypomagnesemia was likely due to polypharmacy including semaglutide, albeit with a delayed relationship to discontinuation of this GLP-1RA, due to nausea and vomiting.
