The reaction of the amidinatosilicon(I) dimer [LSi:] (1; L = PhC(N tBu)) with FeBr in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at ambient temperature afforded the silicon(I)-iron(II) dimer [LSi(FeBr·THF)] (2) after 40 h. Compound 2 can catalyze hydroboration of aliphatic and aromatic ketone compounds with HBpin in the absence of any strong reducing agent. Mechanistic studies show that complex 2 reacts with ketone compounds to form a zwitterionic intermediate in the first step of catalysis. Subsequent reaction with HBpin affords the corresponding boron esters and then regenerates complex 2.

This article discusses the recent study written by Koizumi . Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) is a major cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality, which is driven by complex mechanisms, including lipid accumulation, apoptosis, and inflammatory responses exacerbated by gut barrier dysfunction. The study explored the therapeutic potential of elafibranor, a dual peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha/delta agonist.

Under mild visible light conditions, formates facilitate C-O cleavage the EDA complex and SCS strategy, yielding α-carbonyl alkyl radicals. These radicals then react with olefins under air conditions, leading to the synthesis of diaryl 1,4-dicarbonyl compounds. Mechanistic studies reveal that α-formyloxy ketone is generated by the reaction between α-brominated acetophenone and formates, followed by the formation of the EDA complex.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the flavor profiles of water-boiled pork meatballs at different ultrasonic powers (0, 150, 300, 450, 600, and 750 W) using solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SPME-GC-MS) combined with electronic nose (E-nose). A total of 36 volatile compounds were determined by SPME-GC-MS, including alcohols, aromatic hydrocarbons, aldehydes, terpenes, alkanes, phenols, ketones, and other. With the appropriate ultrasound treatment, the type and relative content of volatile compounds were significantly increased (P < 0.

Candida is a commensal fungus of clinical interest that commonly lives in oral cavity and intestine but can become an opportunist microrganism and cause severe infections. A serie of 10 aminochalcones were designed and synthetized to obtain compounds anti-Candida with potent and broad-spectrum activity. The most active compound J34 demonstrated excellent in vitro activity against Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, Candida parapsilosis, Candida glabrata and Candida krusei with minimum inhibitory concentration between 1.

Potato is the fourth-most important food crop around the world, and most of the potatoes are used for foodstuffs and starch products. The aim of this paper is to identify the volatile compounds and metabolites in potatoes with different processing properties. The results showed large differences of volatile and metabolite compounds such as 2,4-Heptadienal and rhoifolin in potatoes and indicated the potential regulations between volatile compounds and metabolites.
