Nanocrystalline/amorphous powder was produced by ball milling of TiCuNiSn₅ (at.%) master alloy. Both laser diffraction particle size analyzer and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to monitor the changes in the particle size as well as in the shape of particles as a function of milling time. During ball milling, the average particle size decreased with milling time from >320 µm to ~38 µm after 180 min of milling. The deformation-induced hardening and phase transformation caused the hardness value to increase from 506 to 779 HV. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis was used to observe the changes in the phases/amorphous content as a function of milling time. The amount of amorphous fraction increased continuously until 120 min milling (36 wt % amorphous content). The interval of crystallite size was between 1 and 10 nm after 180 min of milling with 25 wt % amorphous fractions. Cubic Cu(Ni,Cu)Ti₂ structure was transformed into the orthorhombic structure owing to the shear/stress, dislocations, and Cu substitution during the milling process.

Numerical transport models are important tools for nuclear emergency decision makers in that they rapidly provide early predictions of dispersion of released radionuclides, which is key information to determine adequate emergency protective measures. They can also help us understand and describe environmental processes and can give a comprehensive assessment of transport and transfer of radionuclides in the environment. Transport of radionuclides in air and ocean is affected by a number of different physico-chemical processes.

Controlled-release microparticles offer a promising avenue for enhancing patient compliance and minimizing dosage frequency. In this study, we aimed to design controlled-release microparticles of Glipizide utilizing Eudragit S100 and Methocel K 100 M polymers as controlling agents. The microparticles were fabricated through a simple solvent evaporation method, employing various drug-to-polymer ratios to formulate different controlled-release batches labeled as F1 to F5.

The modified nanoparticles can significantly improve the insulation characteristics of transformer oil. Currently, there is a lack of research on the actual motion state of particles in nanofluid to further understand the micro-mechanism of nanoparticles improving the insulation characteristics of transformer oil. In this study, the nanofluid containing 0.

The random batch method is advantageous in accelerating force calculations in particle simulations, but it poses a challenge of removing the artificial heating effect in application to the Langevin dynamics. We develop an approach to solve this issue by estimating the force variance, resulting in a variance-reduced random batch Langevin dynamics. Theoretical analysis shows the high-order local truncation error of the time step in the numerical discretization scheme, consistent with the fluctuation-dissipation theorem.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most frequent cause of dementia. Since there are complex pathophysiological mechanisms behind AD, and there is no effective treatment strategy, it is necessary to introduce novel multi-targeting agents with fewer side effects and higher efficacy. Polydatin (PD) is a naturally occurring resveratrol glucoside employing multiple mechanisms toward neuroprotection.
