This article presents data that examined the modeling of nexus between entrepreneurs׳ commitment and business performance in a developing country. 315 copies of questionnaire were retrieved from 400 copies that were administered to Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) Southwest chapters which comprised of six states. In addition to descriptive analysis of part of the data, correlation and regression analysis were used to present the data through structural equation model (SEM). The SEM path analysis shows the estimates of the interconnectedness of the major constructs in the data.

Interference of surface plasmons has been widely utilized in optical metrology for applications such as high-precision sensing. In this paper, we introduce a surface plasmon interferometer with the potential to be arranged in arrays for parallel multiplexing applications. The interferometer features two grating couplers that excite surface plasmon polariton (SPP) waves traveling along a gold-air interface before converging at a gold nanoslit where they interfere.

The current study aims to elicit information regarding the tail risk transmission mechanism between crude oil (CO) and selected clean energy (CE) stock indices across time and during certain economic events. A Time-Varying Parameter Vector Auto-Regressive model (TVP-VAR) paired with the conditional autoregressive value-at-risk (CAViaR) approach was used to investigate data from January 1, 2015 to December 29, 2022. Overall, we show that an increased vulnerability to tail risk and deficits might be linked to dynamic spillover over examined markets.

Berberine ameliorates seizure activity and cardiac dysfunction in pentylenetetrazol-kindling seizures in rats: Modulation of sigma1 receptor, Akt/eNOS signaling, and ferroptosis.

Neuropharmacology

Seizures can lead to cardiac dysfunction. Multiple pathways contribute to this phenomenon, of which the chaperone sigma-1 receptor (S1R) signaling represents a promising nexus between the abnormalities seen in both epilepsy and ensuing cardiac complications. The study explored the potential of Berberine (BER), a promising S1R agonist, in treating epilepsy and associated cardiac abnormalities in a pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) kindling rat model of epilepsy.

Burns are dynamic injuries characterized by an initial zone of necrosis that progresses to compromise surrounding tissue. Acute inflammation and cell death are two main factors contributing to burn progression. These processes are modulated by Connexin43 (Cx43) hemichannels and gap junctions in burns and chronic wounds.

Understanding the relation between cortical neuronal network structure and neuronal activity is a fundamental unresolved question in neuroscience, with implications to our understanding of the mechanism by which neuronal networks evolve over time, spontaneously or under stimulation. It requires a method for inferring the structure and composition of a network from neuronal activities. Tracking the evolution of networks and their changing functionality will provide invaluable insight into the occurrence of plasticity and the underlying learning process.
