Soil serves as a vast matrix for heavy metal accumulation and subsequent redistribution to critical aspects of the environment such as groundwater. Soil pollution study is essential for sustainable human health and ecosystem protection. This study provides vital insight into the fate, accumulation, interactions, and health risk posed by heavy metals in soil and groundwater by employing geochemical accumulation index (Igeo), risk assessment models and multivariate data analysis techniques such as principal component analysis (PCA), preference ranking organisation method for enrichment evaluation (PROMETHEE) and geometrical analysis for interactive aid (GAIA). The median I estimates show moderate to strong Pb accumulation levels whilst all the other metals indicate uncontaminated to moderate levels. The PCA output point to anthropogenic origin of Pb and Cd in the Tano Basin and surrounding communities. PROMETHEE-GAIA results indicate that Pb, Cd, Zn and Fe accumulated in the soil matrix may potentially leach into the groundwater resources. The carcinogenic lifetime risks posed by Pb, Cd, and Ni metals to adults are within the tolerable acceptable risk and thus do not present an immediate danger in the study area. Due to the significant toxicity, bioaccumulation and biomagnification properties of Pb and Cd in the environment, areas associated with significant anthropogenic activities require regular monitoring and evaluation in order to ensure that these metals are consistently below the regulatory limits. This study has further elucidated the subject of heavy metal pollution and is therefore expected to enhance sustainable protection of the environment and human health.

Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT have been increasingly integrated into radiology research, revolutionizing the research landscape. The Radiology Research Alliance (RRA) of the Association for Academic Radiology (AAR) has convened a Task Force to develop this guide to help radiology researchers responsibly adopt LLM technologies. LLMs can improve various phases of the research process by helping to automate literature reviews, generate research questions, analyze complex datasets, and draft manuscripts.

Smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) patients are a heterogeneous group with variable prognosis. A subset of SMM patients have a higher risk of progressing to multiple myeloma (MM) within 2 years. The definition of high-risk patients is not consistent among different risk models, and the combination of various biomarkers and new technologies improves the predictive performance of risk models.

Minimal residual disease (MRD), a crucial biomarker for assessing efficacy and predicting recurrence, refers to residual tumor cells remaining in the body of patients with hematological malignancies who achieved complete remission after treatment. This study aimed to conduct a retrospective analysis of the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and MRD monitoring of a pediatric patient with multiple acute B-lymphocytic leukemia relapses, alongside a review of relevant literature. In this case, Ig rearrangement based on next-generation sequencing (NGS) was more accurate in assessing the MRD level, compared with the traditional method of MRD detection, indicating the risk of earlier relapse and guided interventions in time.

This study enrolled five patients with classic paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (cPNH) who underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in our hospital from 2019 to 2023. All five patients were male, with a median age of 26 (range: 26-46) years. The median time from diagnosis to allo-HSCT was 5.
