This study assessed the effectiveness of adding leukocyte-poor platelet-rich plasma (PRP) during carpal tunnel release surgery for patients with moderate to severe carpal tunnel syndrome. In a randomized controlled trial, 70 patients were assigned to either standard carpal tunnel release (control group) or release with leukocyte-poor PRP applied to the median nerve (PRP group). Primary outcomes were measured using the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire at 3 months, and secondary outcomes included pain, strength, sensation and electrodiagnostic examinations at multiple time points.

The objective of this study was to compare single-needle arthrocentesis with the conventional two-needle arthrocentesis, as well as the additional intracapsular injection of hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich fibrin. A total of 96 patients with established osteoarthritis (OA) ( = 48) or with internal de-arrangement (DD) ( = 48) were assigned single-needle arthrocentesis with distension of the joint or conventional two-needle arthrocentesis with or without intracapsular injection of the medication (hyaluronic acid (HA) or platelet-rich plasma (PRP)) performed every month over a period of 6 months. The maximum mouth opening and pain, as measured by the visual analog scale (VAS), were compared.

Intra-articular corticosteroids, such as triamcinolone acetonide (TA), help reduce pain related to osteoarthritis (OA), but they may impair cartilage metabolism. In contrast, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, a regenerative therapy, has shown potential to promote healing and regeneration of articular cartilage. This study investigates the effects of combining PRP with TA to treat osteoarthritis in racehorses.

Background: The interdental papilla plays a crucial role in the esthetic of the smile. Papilla reconstruction surgery is one of the most unpredictable periodontal procedures. This study compared the effect of the non-surgical application of a commercial hyaluronic acid (HA) gel with an autogenous gel named "albumin with platelet-rich fibrin" (Alb-PRF) on interdental papilla reconstruction.

Background: Symptomatic rotator cuff tears often undergo surgical repair, which may be paired with various augmentation strategies to enhance structural healing rates. While many randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluate augmentation techniques, the statistical robustness of many findings in these studies is unknown. This systematic review aims to evaluate the continuous fragility index (CFI) of RCTs on augmentation techniques for rotator cuff repairs.
