Biomimetic synthesis of multifunctional fluorescent gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) is of great demand because of their ever-increasing applications. In this study, we have used self-assembled bovine serum albumin (BSA) amyloid-like nanofibers as the bioinspired scaffold for the synthesis of Au NCs. The amyloid fibril stabilized gold nanocluster (Fib-Au NC) has been found to have appreciable enhancement of fluorescence emission and a large 25 nm red shift in its emission maxima when compared to its monomeric protein counterpart (BSA-Au NC). The underlying mechanism accountable for the fluorescence behavior and its spectral shift has been thoroughly investigated by a combined use of spectroscopic and microscopic techniques. We have subsequently demonstrated the use of Fib-Au NCs for cysteine (Cys) sensing both in vitro and inside live cells. Additionally, cellular uptake and postpermeation effect of Fib-Au NCs have also been ascertained by detailed flow cytometry analysis, viability assay, and real-time apoptotic gene expression profiling.

Marine cyclopianes are a family of diterpenoid with novel carbon skeleton and diverse biological activities. Herein, we report our synthetic and chemical proteomics studies of cyclopiane diterpenes which culminate in the asymmetric total synthesis of conidiogenones C, K and 12β-hydroxy conidiogenone C, and identification of Immunity-related GTPase family M protein 1 (IRGM1) as a cellular target. Our asymmetric synthesis commences from Wieland-Miescher ketone and features a sequential intramolecular Pauson-Khand reaction and gold-catalyzed Nazarov cyclization to rapidly construct the 6-5-5-5 tetracyclic skeleton.

Castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) presents significant therapeutic challenges due to its aggressive nature and poor prognosis. Targeting Aurora-A kinase (AURKA) has shown promise in cancer treatment. This study investigates the efficacy of ART-T cell membrane-encapsulated AMS@AD (CM-AMS@AD) nanoparticles (NPs) in a photothermal-chemotherapy-immunotherapy combination for CRPC.

Tumor heterogeneity, immune-suppressive microenvironment and the precise killing of tumor cells by drugs are important factors affecting tumor treatment. In this study, we developed environment-responsive drug delivery system (FM@IQ/PST&ZIF-8/DOX) based on ZIF-8 for tumor photothermal/immunotherapy/chemotherapy synergistic therapy. The prepared FM@IQ/PST&ZIF-8/DOX nanoplatfrom not only has highly drug loading capacity for chemotherapeutic drug-doxorubicin, but also erythrocyte membrance modified on their surface can endow their immunity-escaping property and prolong their blood circulation time.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a critical angiogenesis biomarker associated with various pathological conditions, including cancer. This study leverages pre-biotinylated FcγRI interactions with IgG1-type monoclonal antibodies to develop a sensitive VEGF detection method. Utilizing surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology, we characterized the binding dynamics of immobilized biotinylated FcγRI to an IgG1-type antibody, Bevacizumab (AVT), through kinetic studies and investigated suitable conditions for sensor surface regeneration.

Biotemplating technique allows the synthesis of catalysts, recreating the sophisticated structure of nature templates. In this work, some biotemplated TiO semiconductors were synthesized using leaves as templates. Then, g-CN was coupled to materials to later incorporate Pt on the surface or as dopant in the structure to evaluate the efficiency of the solids in two photocatalytic applications to valorize biomass: hydrogen production through glycerol photoreforming, and photoacetalization of cinnamaldehyde with 1,2-propanediol.
