NHS Scotland faces the challenges of an ageing population and a GP recruitment problem. Research has shown that hospital admissions can be reduced if community services can offer enhanced support, in keeping with the Scottish Government's 2020 Vision for healthcare. This study presents the findings of an evaluation of the first year of a three-year community GP fellowship which included working in primary care and secondary care and an educational programme. A grounded theory approach was adopted with data collected from GP fellows and key stakeholders using focus groups and individual interviews. A total of 12 fellows were interviewed at various times in the first year and 22 key stakeholders were interviewed once. The main themes were: aspirations for the fellowship, career choices of recently-qualified GPs, perceptions of primary care and secondary care components, planning and preparation of educational events, the creation of community hubs and identity and status of fellows. The fellowship showed potential for a change in practice and was a good foundation for further collaboration between health care sectors. Physical hubs need to be constructed and resourced to allow fellows to demonstrate a reduction in hospital admissions. More research is needed throughout the lifetime of the fellowship.

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on halide perovskite nanocrystals have attracted extensive attention due to their considerable luminescence efficiency, wide color gamut, high color purity, and facile material synthesis. Since the first demonstration of LEDs based on MAPbBr nanocrystals was reported in 2014, the community has witnessed a rapid development in their performances. In this review, a historical perspective of the development of LEDs based on halide perovskite nanocrystals is provided and then a comprehensive survey of current strategies for high-efficiency lead-based perovskite nanocrystals LEDs, including synthesis optimization, ion doping/alloying, and shell coating is presented.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of semi-annual application of 38% silver diamine fluoride (SDF) with and without light curing in arresting dentine caries in primary teeth.
Methods: Children aged 5-7 years with at least 1 active dentine carious lesion were randomly allocated into: Group 1 (38% SDF with light curing: applied SDF for 10 seconds and exposed to LED light for 20 seconds) and Group 2 (38% SDF without light curing: applied SDF for 10 seconds and isolated for 20 seconds). Both interventions were repeated every 6 months.

Objective: To examine and evaluate guideline concordance of surgical treatment selection at a community-based health system. The AUA guidelines provide specific guidance regarding appropriate utilization of radical nephrectomy (RN) and partial nephrectomy (PN). However, nearly 40% of patients did not fit a guideline-specified scenario in a prior report.

The present study examined the effects of a culturally adapted intervention, ¡Iniciando! la Adultez, on sleep and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Latino young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their Spanish-speaking parents. The intervention targeted the transition to adulthood, a period associated with increased challenges in sleep and HRQoL, particularly for underserved Latino populations. Participants included 26 young adults and 38 parents who completed assessments at baseline and post-treatment.
