In Mexico, Seguro Popular is a landmark government program aimed to guarantee universal access to health services, especially for the most vulnerable populations. Since its adoption in 2004, important changes have been made to improve the performance of Seguro Popular. In this article, we present the main changes that have been implemented in Seguro Popular during the current administration (2012-2018) and propose a series of considerations to improve its performance in the immediate future and thus contribute to achieving the goal of universal health coverage in Mexico.

Background: Ethnic and racial discrimination in maternal health care has been overlooked in academic literature and yet it is critical for achieving universal health coverage (UHC). There is a lack of empirical evidence on its impact on the effective coverage of maternal health interventions (ECMH) for Indigenous women in Mexico. Documenting progress in reducing maternal health inequities, particularly given the disproportionate impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on ethnic minorities, is essential to improving equity in health systems.

Introduction: the post-surgical management of ankle fractures is still controversial, and there is no consensus on which rehabilitation regimen should be included as the best. The objective of the study was to describe the clinical and functional results of post-surgical patients with A/B Weber ankle fracture managed with early rehabilitation through early support and immobilization with circular appliance immobilization.
Material And Methods: prospective observational study of patients with postoperative Weber A and B ankle fractures, who were prescribed a program of early gradual weight-bearing and protected with a circular appliance and were compared with patients who did not receive weight-bearing.
