Purpose Of Review: In this article, we describe the basics of how magnetic resonance urography (MRU) is performed in the pediatric population as well as the common indications and relative performance compared to standard imaging modalities.

Recent Findings: Although MRU is still largely performed in major academic or specialty imaging centers, more and more applications in the pediatric setting have been described in the literature. MRU is a comprehensive imaging modality for evaluating multiple pediatric urologic conditions combining excellent anatomic detail with functional information previously only available via renal scintigraphy. While generally still reserved for problem solving, MRU should be considered for some conditions as an early imaging technique.

This paper proposes a hybrid stochastic-robust optimization framework for sizing a photovoltaic/tidal/fuel cell (PV/TDL/FC) system to meet an annual educational building demand based on hydrogen storage via unscented transformation (UT), and information gap decision theory-based risk-averse strategy (IGDT-RA). The hybrid framework integrates the strengths of UT for scenario generation and IGDT-RA (hybrid UT-IGDT-RA) for optimizing the system robustness and maximum uncertainty radius (MRU) of building energy demand and renewable resource generation. The deterministic model focuses on minimizing the cost of energy production over the project's lifespan (CEPLS) and considers a reliability constraint defined as the demand shortage probability (DSHP).

In this paper, single and multi-objective robust optimization of a microgrid (MG) including photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine (WT) sources with battery storage has been performed in a radial 33-bus distribution network considering uncertainty risk for minimizing the cost of energy losses, cost of electricity purchase from the post as well as power purchase from the MG. The problem is implemented in two approaches without uncertainty (deterministic) and with uncertainty (robust) via a flow direct algorithm (FDA). In the deterministic approach, the variables such as the site and the optimal size of the equipments in the short-term study horizon of 24 h, as well as the total cost, have been determined that the results of the MG deterministic optimization in the network indicate the reduction of network losses with the total cost minimization.

Article Synopsis
  • The study assessed the feasibility and outcomes of I-LEVUR, a surgical technique for treating upper moiety ectopic ureter in patients with a duplex renal system, which avoids reimplanting the lower ureter.
  • Twelve patients, mostly young children, underwent the procedure with a mean surgical time of 127.5 minutes, and no major complications were reported post-surgery.
  • Results indicated improved urinary continence in all patients after an average follow-up of about 78.5 months, suggesting that I-LEVUR is a safe and effective option that preserves normal ureter function.

The automatic segmentation of the pharyngeal airway space has many potential medical use, one of which is to help facilitate the creation of the Tubingen Palatal Plate. Therefore, it is of great importance to understand which methods are suitable for this task. Here, neural network based solutions available in the literature are compared to find the best methods.

Objective: To present a unique set of patients diagnosed with megacalycosis by magnetic resonance urography (MRU) to re-evaluate the definition of megacalycosis and provide a new perspective on diagnosis and treatment.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective chart review of patients with megacalycosis as diagnosed by MRU was conducted. MRU was performed to determine the presence of obstruction, further visualize renal anatomy, and clarify the presence of megacalycosis.
