Background: Bed bugs are blood-feeders that rapidly proliferate into large indoor infestations. Their bites can cause allergies, secondary infections and psychological stress, among other problems. Although several tactics for their management have been used, bed bugs continue to spread worldwide wherever humans reside.

Vector control is essential for eliminating malaria, a vector-borne parasitic disease responsible for over half a million deaths annually. Success of vector control programs hinges on community acceptance of products like long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs). Communities in malaria-endemic regions often link LLIN efficacy to their ability to control indoor pests such as bed bugs (Cimex lectularius L.

ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, particularly those of subfamily B, are involved in cell detoxification, multidrug resistance, drug treatment pharmacodynamics, and also ecological adaptation. In this regard, ABCB transporters may play a decisive role in the co-evolution between plants and herbivores. Cardenolides, toxic steroid glycosides, are secondary plant metabolites that defend plants against herbivores by targeting their sodium-potassium ATPase.

Background: The anti-angiogenic drugs showed remarkable efficacy in the treatment of lung cancer. Nonetheless, the potential roles of the intra-tumoral immune cell abundances and peripheral blood immunological features in prognosis prediction of patients with advanced lung cancer receiving anti-angiogenesis-based therapies remain unknown. In this study, we aimed to develop an immune-based model for early identification of patients with advanced lung cancer who would benefit from anti-angiogenesis-based therapies.
