The purpose of this study was to examine the promise and feasibility of a newly developed curriculum to teach early literacy skills to students with intellectual disability (ID) and students with low IQs. The curriculum texts were written to include familiar settings, high frequency words, natural syntax, and cumulative practice. A single-case design was used with multiple baseline across levels of instruction and included eight participants who had IQs spanning from 40 to 63. The study was conducted across one academic year in two private schools for students with special needs. Results showed that all eight students demonstrated significant growth on proximal measures of taught words, as well as growth on at least some curriculum-based distal measures. Additionally, the program was demonstrated to be feasible; the teachers implemented the intervention with high degrees of fidelity and expressed satisfaction with the effectiveness and practicality of the program.

Introduction: The fact that inclusive education has existed in Bosnia and Herzegovina for twenty years opens the question of how it affects typically developing children, among other things. This paper aims to examine the differences in general knowledge and mathematics of typically developing students with regard to whether they attend classes that include students with intellectual disabilities or not, as well as to determine the relationship of their knowledge with teachers' characteristics and the inclusiveness of schools they attend.
Methods: The sample included 331 students from 18 regular elementary school classes.

As global temperatures rise, heat-related chronic health disorders are predicted to become more prevalent. We tested whether a single exposure to acute heat illness, using a preclinical mouse model of exertional heat stroke (EHS), can induce late-emerging health disorders that progress into chronic disease. Following EHS, mice were followed for 3 months; after two weeks of recovery, half were placed on a Western diet to determine if previous EHS exposure amplifies the negative consequences of an atherogenic diet.
