Aim: Tools for mapping and quantifying monoclonal antibody (mAb) and peptide biotherapeutics distribumtion were evaluated by comparing data from three independent methods conducted at the whole body, organ or tissue, and cellular levels.

Materials & Methods: [H]-mAb1 and [H]-peptide A were administered intravenously to rats followed by quantitative whole-body autoradiography, kidney macro-autoradiography and micro-autoradiography.

Results: [H]-mAb1 and [H]-peptide A concentrations were measured in anatomical regions ranging from whole body to whole organ to sub-organ level, such as the kidney glomerulus, with increasing resolution. The tissue/blood [H]-mAb1 concentrations in selected kidney microenvironments were comparable among the three quantitative methods.

Conclusion: Quantitative whole-body autoradiography, tissue macro-autoradiography and micro-autoradiography all provide useful tools for quantifying the concentrations of biotherapeutics at different anatomical levels in tissues, facilitating better predictions of efficacy and toxicity.

Oxidative stress and inflammation are indispensable components of ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury. In this study, we investigated the effects of low and high doses of caftaric acid (CA) on reducing kidney and remote organ damage induced by IR. We divided Wistar rats into four groups: sham, IR, low (40 mg/kg body weight (BW)), and high (80 mg/kg BW) CA groups.

Adipose tissue-derived adipokines facilitate inter-organ communication between adipose tissue and other organs. Omentin-1, an adipokine, has been implicated in the regulation of glucose and insulin metabolism. However, limited knowledge exists regarding the regulatory impact of endogenous omentin-1 on hepatic steatosis.

Background: The spleen, as the body's largest peripheral immune organ and a crucial source of circulating monocytes, plays a significant role in the acute inflammatory response of spleen-derived macrophages to diseases. Therefore, studying the impact and mechanism of X-ray irradiation on spleen-derived macrophages' inflammatory responses is of great importance.

Method: Extracted and identified mice splenic macrophages were divided into four groups: control group, LPS and ATP co-stimulated non-irradiated group, LPS and ATP co-stimulated group irradiated after 6h, and LPS and ATP co-stimulated group irradiated after 12h.

Microplastic (MP) pollution is an emerging environmental problem worldwide and has caused widespread concern both in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems due to their potential impacts on the human health, and health of aquatic organisms and the environment. Little is known about the exposure of top marine predators to MP contamination (debris 0.1μm - <5mm, also called MPs).

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder affecting multiple joints and requires lifelong treatment. Present study was designed to formulate Esculin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (ENPs) and evaluation of its anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic action. The acute toxicity study of ENPs was also performed.
