The phosphatidylethanolamine-binding protein (PEBP) family members FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT) and TERMINAL FLOWER1 (TFL1) are major regulators of plant reproduction. In Arabidopsis, the FT/TFL1 balance defines the timing of floral transition and the determination of inflorescence meristem identity. However, emerging studies have elucidated a plethora of previously unknown functions for these genes in various physiological processes.

The neurotransmitter dopamine (DA) has a multifaceted role in healthy and disordered brains through its action on multiple subtypes of dopaminergic receptors. How modulation of these receptors influences learning and motivation by altering intrinsic brain-wide networks remains unclear. Here we performed parallel behavioral and resting-state functional MRI experiments after administration of two different DA receptor antagonists in male and female macaque monkeys.

The development of ground-breaking Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) replacement strategies has revolutionized the field of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) research. However, the limitations of these therapies have now become evident, highlighting the need for the development of complementary targets beyond SMN replacement. To address these challenges, here we explored, in in vitro and in vivo disease models, Stathmin-2 (STMN2), a neuronal microtubule regulator implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), as a novel SMN-independent target for SMA therapy.
