This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety between high-dose intravenous iron and oral iron in treating iron deficiency anemia (IDA) . This prospective randomized controlled study (1∶1) enrolled 338 patients with IDA at The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, Suzhou Hongci Hematology Hospital, and Huai'an Second People's Hospital from June 1, 2022, to January 19, 2024. The application of standardized criteria to evaluate treatment efficacy is crucial for guiding therapeutic decisions, assessing prognosis, and interpreting outcomes in treating multiple myeloma (MM). The unique characteristics of MM make its response assessment more complex compared with other malignancies. It primarily depends on serum and urine M protein levels, combined with the number of plasma cells in the bone marrow and comprehensive imaging findings.

To enhance the biomarker diagnostics sensitivity and selectivity of human papillomavirus type 16 oncoprotein E7 (HPV16 E7) in serum, a label/enzyme-free electrochemical detection platform was developed. This platform featured a type of "Super-turn-off" nanobiosensor monitored through differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). It integrated the magnetic self-assembly property of the α-FeO/FeO@Au/Sub/BSA signal transport nano-medium with the high specificity of CRISPR/Cas14a and the amplification capability of the bipedal walker (DNA walker composed of two ssDNA strands), resulting in the enhanced specificity and anti-interference performance while remaining stable at 4 °C for over 30 days.

Background Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, progressive, disabling disease associated with a high rate of infection, evidence of chronic inflammation, and a high mortality rate. Abnormalities of serum cytokines and changes in the activity of inflammatory cells were associated with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS-RR). This study aims to introduce new inflammatory ratios derived from hematological and lipid indices as discriminators of T-helper (Th)-1/Th-2 activity in RR-MS.

Metyrapone is commonly used in the initial management of Cushing's syndrome to reduce hypercortisolemia, but its optimal dosage and timing can vary significantly between patients. Currently, there are limited guidelines on adjustment methods for its administration to individual needs. This study aimed to evaluate responsiveness of each patient to metyrapone and identify the patient characteristics associated with the indices of cortisol responsiveness following a low-dose metyrapone.
