The data on the individual features of eye movements during viewing affective images from IAPS have been presented. The results suggest that the nature of the viewing of the trajectories for each subject (n = 20) is saved at a presentation of images with different emotional content. All examinees showed a significant correlation between the number of tests in which detected a region of interest, in three combinations: between negative and positive images, negative and neutral, neutral and positive (r = 0.84; 0.78 and 0.77 respectively). A similar correlation was found for the fixation duration (r = 0.90; 0.82; 0.90). It is shown that the number of points of fixation in the areas of interest, the area of the field viewing and the fixation duration significantly different between the two groups examinees (with a predominance of focal or scanning inspection trajectories). The possibility of using emotionally meaningful images to evaluate the dominaте type of visual attention on the parameters of eye movements of a particular person is discussed.

Socioemotional selectivity theory (SST) maintains that perceived constraints on time horizons motivate people to optimize emotionally meaningful experiences in the present, whereas expansive time horizons lead people to pursue goals that hold future utility. Theoretically, the prioritizing of goals about emotional meaning contributes to the relatively high levels of emotional well-being and mental health observed in older people. The present article provides an overview of SST and places it in historical context, noting the differences and similarities it shares with contemporaneous approaches.

Introduction: The subjective experience of illness is often overshadowed by the disease-and-cure focus of health research, contributing to the stigmatization of conditions such as Parkinson's disease and dementia. This is exacerbated by the fact that traditional means of knowledge dissemination are inaccessible to non-academic audiences, hampering meaningful dialogue with and research uptake by the broader community.
Methods: Our arts-based knowledge translation project, , brought together neuroscientists, people with Parkinson's disease or dementia, care partners and artists (musicians, dancers, circus acrobats) to co-create 2 multi-media performances based on scientific research and lived experience.
