This paper deals with the content of the national part of the Czech Pharmacopoeia (CP) 2017 in terms of preparation of pharmaceuticals in pharmacies, quantitative methods for controlling their quality and their usable life. Despite the longer time span of the CP 2017 since the CP 2009, compared to the CP 2009 from the CP 2005, the content of the CP 2017 can not be evaluated as a more pronounced shift from the national part of the CP 2009. Some issues of the national section of the CP 2017 are discussed in detail in the paper. Key words: Czech Pharmacopoeia 2017 • content of the national part • preparation of medicinal products in pharmacies.

Population Pharmacokinetics of Telmisartan in Healthy Subjects and Hypertensive Patients.

Clin Pharmacokinet

January 2025

College of Pharmacy, Kyungsung University, 309, Suyeong-ro, Nam-gu, Busan, 48434, Republic of Korea.

Background And Objective: Telmisartan exhibits significant pharmacokinetic (PK) variability, but it remains unclear whether its PK profile is altered in hypertensive patients. This study aimed to characterize telmisartan PKs by conducting a meta-analysis and developing a pooled population PK model based on data from healthy subjects and hypertensive patients.

Methods: Relevant literature was identified by a systematic approach.

Aims/hypothesis: Existing evidence on the relationship between intake of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) and type 2 diabetes is conflicting. Few studies have examined whether MUFAs from plant or animal sources (MUFA-Ps and MUFA-As, respectively) exhibit differential associations with type 2 diabetes. We examined associations of intakes of total MUFAs, MUFA-Ps and MUFA-As with type 2 diabetes risk.

Background: Benefits of neoadjuvant treatment for pancreatic cancer with major vessel invasion has been demonstrated through randomized controlled trials; however, the optimal neoadjuvant treatment strategy remains controversial, especially for radiotherapy. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy and the optimal time interval to undergo surgery after radiotherapy in (borderline) resectable pancreatic cancer.

Methods: Between 2013 and 2022, patients with (borderline) resectable pancreatic cancer with vessel contact who received 5-fluorouracil with leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan or gemcitabine and nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel as initial treatment following surgery were included.

Comparative Proteomic Atlas of Two Soybean Varieties with Contrasting Seed Oil and Protein Content.

J Agric Food Chem

January 2025

Guangdong Subcenter of the National Center for Soybean Improvement, College of Agriculture, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou 510642, China.

As complex quantitative traits, soybean seed oil and protein contents are governed by dynamic proteome networks that remain largely unknown. Here, we investigated the dynamic changes of the proteome during seed maturation across two soybean varieties with contrasting seed oil and protein content. Through optimizing the detectability of low-abundance proteins and utilizing library-free data-independent acquisition (directDIA) mass spectrometry, we unprecedentedly identified 7414 proteins and 3975 protein groups (PGs), substantially expanding the soybean seed proteome.
