Approximately 40% of the patients with aortic aneurysm have coronary artery disease(CAD), which is an important factor contributing to early mortality associated with aneurysm surgery. Combined coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)and aortic aneurysm repair of the ascending aorta to the aortic arch is often performed through a median sternotomy due to a good surgical exposure. However, treatment strategy of thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm(TAAA) combined with CAD is often controversial. We report a successful case of a 69-year-old man who underwent TAAA repair and CABG through a left thoracotomy. Left thoracotomy via the 5th intercostal space with para-rectal incision provides a good surgical exposure of the thoraco-abdominal aorta and the left anterior descending artery(LAD). LAD was revascularized with a saphenous vein graft which was anastomosed to the descending aorta, followed by TAAA repair. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged on 13th postoperative day without any complications.

Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the risk profiles associated with Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) incidence in both the general population and diverse subpopulations.
Summary Background Data: AAA is a life-threatening arterial disease, and there is limited understanding of its etiological spectrum across the age, sex, and genetic risk subgroups, making early prevention efforts more complicated.
Methods: This study encompassed a sample size of 364399 participants from the UK.

Objective: The aim of this single-center case series is to demonstrate that an ultra-low dose (ULD) can be routinely achieved in the hybrid operating room in standard endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) for infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm by adjusting the manufacturer's predefined imaging parameters, hardware configurations and user protocols (including benchmarking).
Methods: The hybrid operating room manufacturer predefined EVAR software setup of the dose exposure control software (OPTIQ, Siemens Healthineers, Forchheim, Germany) at our university medical center was screened for possible improvements regarding radiation dose application. Tests on a water-equivalent as well as polymethyl methacrylate phantom model to assess the impact of technical settings were performed, including comparison of settings for exposure control software, different magnification, collimation configurations and detector distance.

Thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm poses a substantial mortality risk in adults, yet many of its underlying factors remain unidentified. Here, we identify mitochondrial nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD)⁺ deficiency as a causal factor for the development of aortic aneurysm. Multiomics analysis of 150 surgical aortic specimens indicated impaired NAD salvage and mitochondrial transport in human thoracic aortic aneurysm, with expression of the NAD transporter SLC25A51 inversely correlating with disease severity and postoperative progression.

Aortic angiosarcomas are extremely rare and difficult to diagnose. Here, we report a case of persistent pain and fever of unknown origin, culminating in the diagnosis of aortic epithelioid angiosarcoma at the site of a previous Dacron aortic graft.
