Here, we propose an easy and robust strategy for the versatile preparation of hybrid plasmonic nanopores by means of controlled deposition of single flakes of MoS2 directly on top of metallic holes. The device is realized on silicon nitride membranes and can be further refined by TEM or FIB milling to achieve the passing of molecules or nanometric particles through a pore. Importantly, we show that the plasmonic enhancement provided by the nanohole is strongly accumulated in the 2D nanopore, thus representing an ideal system for single-molecule sensing and sequencing in a flow-through configuration. Here, we also demonstrate that the prepared 2D material can be decorated with metallic nanoparticles that can couple their resonance with the nanopore resonance to further enhance the electromagnetic field confinement at the nanoscale level. This method can be applied to any gold nanopore with a high level of reproducibility and parallelization; hence, it can pave the way to the next generation of solid-state nanopores with plasmonic functionalities. Moreover, the controlled/ordered integration of 2D materials on plasmonic nanostructures opens a pathway towards new investigation of the following: enhanced light emission; strong coupling from plasmonic hybrid structures; hot electron generation; and sensors in general based on 2D materials.

Plasmonic catalysis, whereby either an optically resonating metal couples to a catalytic material or a catalytic metal particle achieves optical resonance, has been a mainstay of photo-catalysis research for the past few decades. However, a new field of metal-dielectric metamaterials, including plasmonic metamaterials, is emerging as the next frontier in catalysis research. With new optical behaviors that can be achieved by sub-wavelength structures, in either periodic or semi-periodic arrangements, metamaterials can overcome some of the limitations of conventional plasmonic catalysis.

This review examines recent advances in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) for urinary metabolite analysis, focusing on the development and application of noble metal nanohybrids. We explore the diverse range of hybrid materials, including carbon-based, metal-organic-framework (MOF), silicon-based, semiconductor, and polymer-based systems, which have significantly improved SERS performance for detecting key urinary biomarkers. The principles underlying SERS enhancement in these nanohybrids are discussed, elucidating both electromagnetic and chemical enhancement mechanisms.

In this Letter, we designed a kind of single-layer metasurfaces with delicately designed hybrid magnetic meta-atoms (HMMAs), which can be operated as perfect absorbers (PAs) for the electromagnetic wave incident at a specified direction, but at the mirror symmetric direction, the nearly total reflection is achieved. This remarkable nonreciprocal phenomenon arises from the time-reversal symmetry (TRS) breaking nature of magnetic surface plasmon as well as the lattice Kerker effect due to the interaction of HMMAs in the single-layer metasurfaces.

We investigate the emergence of self-hybridized thermal magnetoplasmons in doped graphene nanodisks at finite temperatures upon being subjected to an external magnetic field. Using a semianalytical approach, which fully describes the eigenmodes and polarizability of the graphene nanodisks, we show that the hybridization originates from the coupling of transitions between thermally populated Landau levels and localized magnetoplasmon resonances of the nanodisks. Owing to their origin, these modes combine the extraordinary magneto-optical response of graphene with the strong field enhancement of plasmons, making them an ideal tool for achieving strong chiral light-matter interactions, with the additional advantage of being tunable through carrier concentration, magnetic field, and temperature.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors, especially those targeting CD274/PD-L1yield powerful clinical therapeutic efficacy. Thoughmuch progress has been made in the development of antibody-basedCD274 drugs, chemical compounds applied for CD274degradation remain largely unavailable. Herein, baicalein, a monomer of traditional Chinese medicine, isscreened and validated to target CD274 and induces itsmacroautophagic/autophagic degradation.
