Spatially controlled anchoring of NA probes onto microscope glass slides by a novel fluor-thiol coupling reaction is performed. By this UV-initiated reaction, covalent immobilization in very short times (30 s at 254 nm) is achieved with probe densities of up to 39.6 pmol/cm. Modulating the surface hydrophobicity by combining a hydrophobic silane and a hydrophilic silane allows the fabrication of tuned surfaces where the analyte approaches only the anchored probe, which notably reduces nonspecific adsorption and the background. The generated substrates have proven clear advantages for discriminating single-base-pair mismatches, and for detecting bacterial PCR products. The hybridization sensitivity achieved by these high-performance surfaces is about 1.7 pM. Finally, this anchoring reaction is demonstrated using two additional surfaces: polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes. This provides a very interesting pathway for anchoring thiolated biomolecules onto surfaces with C-F motifs via a quick clean UV reaction.

Purpose: Autistic adults experience high rates of traumatic events and PTSD. However, little work has evaluated motor vehicle accident (MVA) related trauma symptoms. The goal of this brief report was to provide pilot data characterizing MVA-related peritraumatic reactions, trauma symptoms, and rates of PTSD diagnosis and mental health service use among Autistic compared to non-autistic adults.

GO/Co-MOF/PPy-350 (GPC-350) was synthesized by in situ growth of ultrafine Co-MOF on graphene oxide (GO), followed by encapsulation with polypyrrole (PPy) and calcination at 350.0℃. Meanwhile, MoS-MWCNTs (MoS-CNTs) were produced via the in situ synthesis of MoS within multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs).

Sodium salt of aryl sulfinic acid reacts with enynone in a different manner, yielding α-furyl sulfone and stereodefined vinyl sulfone in toluene and EtOH respectively in the presence of ZnCl. The salient features of this protocol include chemoselectivity, broad substrate scope, high efficiency, high yield, and easy purification. The synthetic utilities of the products are demonstrated by cycloaddition and cis-trans photoisomerization reactions.

Pulsed dipolar electron paramagnetic resonance (PD-EPR) measurement is a powerful technique for characterizing the interactions and conformational changes of biomolecules. The extraction of these distance restraints from PD-EPR experiments relies on manipulation of spin-spin pairs. The orthogonal spin labeling approach offers unique advantages by providing multiple distances between different spin-spin pairs.

The first-line treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) has recently undergone major changes, and targeted therapies have ushered in a new era of CLL/SLL treatment. Scientists in different countries have successively analyzed the efficacy of various drugs, but safety studies are relatively insufficient. Therefore, this systematic evaluation and retrospective meta-analysis was conducted to compare the differences in adverse effects and their incidence among first-line treatment regimens for CLL/SLL.
