Liquid biopsy (LB) has revolutionized molecular pathology, offering non-invasive insights into tumor biology. However, widespread adoption is hindered by a lack of standardized protocols, requiring robust quality control and harmonized workflows. Large-scale studies are needed to establish effective standard operating procedures (SOPs), particularly for circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) assays tailored to different disease stages.

Background: The availability and affordability of safe, effective cancer therapies are core requirements for effective cancer control. Global disparities exist in access, however, yielding unequal cancer outcomes. The goal of this study was to provide updated data regarding the formulary availability, out-of-pocket costs, and accessibility of cancer medicines in countries across the full spectrum of economic development areas.

Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) is effective for colorectal cancer peritoneal metastases (CRPM) at increasing overall survival (OS) compared to systemic anticancer treatment (SACT) alone. The addition of Oxaliplatin heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) has been shown in a randomized controlled trial to result in increased complications without significant OS benefit. This study evaluates outcomes for CRPM patients undergoing CRS+HIPEC with Oxaliplatin (Ox) 368mg/m (30 min), versus Mitomycin C (MMC) 35mg/m (90min).

Leading societies have established guidelines that vary significantly regarding recommendations for the surgical management of pulmonary carcinoids (PC). We aimed to assess current guidelines and recommendations for PC surgical management, benchmark their methodological quality, and identify factors that may influence their effectiveness in guiding surgical practice. Literature was sought to identify relevant guidelines for the management of PC.

Purpose: Molecular profiling is increasingly implemented to guide treatment of advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), especially when for clinical trials enrollment. This study aimed to describe actionable alterations detected in KRAS mutated (KRASm) versus KRAS wild-type (KRASwt) PDAC, the latter group being considered enriched in molecular alterations.
Methods: This prospective monocentric study included patients with locally advanced or metastatic PDAC who underwent next-generation sequencing (NGS) on liquid biopsy and/or tissue samples between 2015 and 2023, as part of the BIP academic study (NCT02534649).
