Introduction: Diabetic papillopathy is a rare ocular complication of diabetes. Its pathophysiology is not well known. It is a unilateral or bilateral optic disc edema with variable degrees of visual loss.

Observation: A 66-year-old woman, with a twelve years old type 2 diabetes mellitus, suddenly presented a unilateral decreased vision. Her ocular examination was normal eight months earlier. Ocular examination, radiological investigations and laboratory analysis were conclusive of diabetic papillopathy. Medical history revealed a recent rapid improvement of blood glucose control after intensification of insulin therapy. A visual acuity improvement with spontaneous regression of papillary edema was observed.

Conclusion: There is a risk of diabetic papillopathy associated with the rapid control of blood glucose levels after intensification of insulin therapy, even in diabetic patients without known retinopathy.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of 3-nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP) in combination with different feed additives on growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality, enteric methane (CH) emissions, nutrient intake and digestibility, and blood parameters in feedlot beef cattle. In experiment (Exp.) 1, one hundred sixty-eight Nellore bulls (initial bodyweight (BW) 410 ± 8 kg) were allocated to 24 pens in a completely randomized block design.

Introduction: Insulin utilization pattern varies greatly in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. Clinical inertia in treatment intensification hinders glycemic control in T2DM management. This study investigated insulin prescription trends and various predictors among insulin naive, user, and insulin inertia (II) patients in T2DM.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) exhibits distinct biochemical and histopathological attributes, encompassing cellular, neuronal, and oxidative impairment. There is also an abnormal buildup, misfolding and clumping of amyloid β (Aβ). The present study aimed to explore the influence of the antihyperglycemic agent metformin on rats with AD-like symptoms, while also elucidating the intricate relationship between insulin resistance and AD.
