In computational fluid dynamics, there is a high interest in modeling flow diverter stents as porous media due to its reduced computational loads. One of the main difficulties of such models is proper parameter setup. Most authors assume flow diverter's wire screen as an isotropic and homogeneous medium, while others proposes anisotropic configurations, yet very little is discussed about the effect of these assumptions on model's accuracy. In this paper, we compare the effect of different models on hemodynamics in relation to their parameters. The fidelity and efficiency of the different models to capture wire screen effect on fluid flow are quantitatively analyzed and compared.

Introduction: The Flow Re-direction Endoluminal Device (FRED) is a novel flow diverter with a unique double stent design, with an inner stent composed of 48 nitinol wires, and an outer stent with 16 nitinol wires. It is designed for endovascular cerebral aneurysm treatment, although, limited data exist regarding in-stent stenosis (ISS) rates associated with FRED devices.
Methods: A registry encompassing two North American comprehensive stroke centers was the base of this study.

Background: Variability in long-term endovascular treatment outcomes for intracranial aneurysms has prompted questions regarding the effects of these treatments on aneurysm hemodynamics. Background And Purpose: This animal study was designed to evaluate in vivo the acute and short-term safety and efficacy of the new Artisse intrasaccular device (ISD) for aneurysm occlusion and to gain knowledge about the behavior in the aneurysms.
Materials And Methods: The device was implanted in 7 white New Zealand rabbits with bifurcation aneurysms. Immediate and 90-day angiographic follow-up as well as histologic and scanning electron microscope imaging were evaluated.
