The aims of this study were to observe the antimicrobial effect and mechanism of cinnamon oil combined with gamma radiation on Gamma radiation increased the antimicrobial activity of cinnamon oil, and the relative radiation sensitivity of gamma radiation on was increased by cinnamon oil. Gamma radiation significantly increased the changes of bacterial morphology, intra-adenosine 5'-triphosphate (intra-ATP) and extra-ATP concentrations and pH value of treated cinnamon oil. Although, gamma radiation used alone didn't damage the bacterial morphology and ATP concentrations significantly. Gamma radiation assisted cinnamon oil to damage the cell permeability and integrity of thus the combination of cinnamon oil and gamma radiation showed a better antimicrobial activity than used alone.

Uptake of metals, metalloids, and radiocesium varies with habitat use among passerine communities at coal combustion and nuclear fission legacy waste sites.

Releases of coal combustion and nuclear fission wastes create contaminated landscapes that pose long-term management challenges. Efforts to facilitate the natural attenuation of legacy wastes in the environment can provide attractive habitat for passerine birds. Passerines have diverse foraging and nesting behaviors that lead to heterogenous contaminant exposure, yet few studies investigate contaminant uptake in passerines on a community scale.

This study proposes a novel, highly sensitive neutron detector design utilizing a unique multi-layered configuration. Each layer consists of a LiF: ZnS(Ag) scintillator coupled with a transparent neutron moderator that also functions as a light guide for the Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) light sensor. This design offers a cost-effective and readily available alternative for existing neutron detectors.

Globally, traumatic injuries and severe hemorrhagic wounds resulting from natural disasters, wars, traffic accidents, and operation rooms, especially during birth, are among the most difficult humanitarian and economic problems. Thus, the priority in emergency medical treatment is reducing unexpected blood loss, which can significantly influence a patient's rescue and recovery speed. For the immediate cessation of bleeding in severe hemorrhagic wounds and to speed up their healing, environmentally friendly γ-ionizing irradiation technology was used to develop innovative natural-based hydrogels impregnated with traditional medicinal plant extracts (MPE) with proven hemostatic and bactericidal potential as potential dressings for hemostasis, infection control, and wound healing.

We investigate methods that improve the estimation of indoor gamma ray dose rates at locations where measurements had not been made. These new predictions use a greater range of modelling techniques and larger variety of explanatory variables than our previous examinations of this subject. Specifically, we now employ three types of machine learning models in addition to the geostatistical, nearest neighbour and other earlier models.

Introduction: The current first-line therapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is often associated with long-term complications. Oncolytic measles virus (MV) therapy offers a promising alternative to cancer therapy. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of MV in killing NPC cells in vitro, both with or without resistance to radiation and drug therapy.
