Engineering, controlling, and simulating quantum dynamics is a strenuous task. However, these techniques are crucial to develop quantum technologies, preserve quantum properties, and engineer decoherence. Earlier results have demonstrated reservoir engineering, construction of a quantum simulator for Markovian open systems, and controlled transition from Markovian to non-Markovian regime. Dephasing is an ubiquitous mechanism to degrade the performance of quantum computers. However, all-purpose quantum simulator for generic dephasing is still missing. Here, we demonstrate full experimental control of dephasing allowing us to implement arbitrary decoherence dynamics of a qubit. As examples, we use a photon to simulate the dynamics of a qubit coupled to an Ising chain in a transverse field and also demonstrate a simulation of nonpositive dynamical map. Our platform opens the possibility to simulate dephasing of any physical system and study fundamental questions on open quantum systems.

The coamorphous formulations have attracted increasing interest due to enhanced solubility and bioavailability, together with synergistic pharmacological effects. In this study, a ternary coamorphous system of polyphenols was successfully prepared, wherein baicalein (Bai) and resveratrol (Res) were constructed into a single-phase coamorphous system mediated by piperine (Pip). FTIR and ss C NMR spectra together with quantum chemical calculation and molecular dynamics simulation suggested Pip as a molecular bridge connected Bai and Res molecules through π-π stacking and hydrogen bonding interactions.

With increasing awareness of environmental protection, additional attention has been given to environmentally friendly metal anticorrosion research. In this paper, the green organic corrosion inhibitor sodium lignosulfonate (SLS) was extracted from bagasse waste, and a Ce-MOF@SLS smart anticorrosive film containing the inhibitor was prepared on the surface of an aluminum alloy by in situ electrodeposition. The material was characterized by SEM, EDS, FT-IR, XRD and XPS, and its corrosion resistance was tested with EIS and neutral salt spray tests.

One radiation protection measure for medical personnel in X-ray fluoroscopy is using radiation protective plates. A real-time interactive tool visualizing radiation-dose distribution varied with the protective plate position will help greatly to train medical personnel to protect themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure. Monte Carlo simulation can calculate the individual interactions between radiations and objects in the X-ray room, and reproduce the complex dose distribution inside the room.

Nanomaterial-biomembrane interactions constitute a critical biological process in assessing the toxicity of such materials in theoretical studies. However, many investigations simplify these interactions by using membrane models containing only one or a few lipid types, deviating significantly from the complexity of real membrane compositions. In particular, cholesterol, a ubiquitous lipid essential for regulating membrane fluidity and closely linked to various diseases, is often overlooked.

By employing the stabilizer in the supersonic gas nozzle to produce the plasma density profile with a sharp downramp, we have experimentally demonstrated highly stable electron beam acceleration based on the shock injection mechanism in laser wakefield acceleration with the use of a compact Ti:sapphire laser. A quasi-monoenergetic electron beam with a peak energy of 315 MeV ± 12.5 MeV per shot is generated.
