Background: This study investigates the association between the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), a simple readily available measure of malnutrition risk, and 30-day postoperative complications following revision total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA).
Methods: The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database was queried for all patients who underwent TSA between 2015 and 2022. The study population was divided into three groups based on preoperative GNRI: normal/reference (GNRI > 98), moderate malnutrition (92 ≤ GNRI ≤ 98), and severe malnutrition (GNRI < 92).

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate preoperative anemia as a risk factor for postoperative complications after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR).
Methods: Adult patients who underwent ARCR from 2015-2020 were identified in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database. Patients were grouped according to the following preoperative hematocrit levels: normal (male >39%, female >36%), mild anemia (male 33%-39%, female 33%-36%), and moderate to severe anemia (male and female ≤33%).

Materials and methods Data were drawn from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) database to create a study population consisting of Black and White patients who underwent RCR between 2015 and 2019.

Purpose: This study investigates the association between preoperative serum sodium levels and 30-day postoperative complications following aseptic revision total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA).
Methods: The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database was queried for all patients who underwent aseptic revision TSA from 2015 to 2022. The study population was divided into two groups based on preoperative serum sodium levels: eunatremia (135-144 mEq/L) and hyponatremia (< 135 mEq/L).
