Importance: Obesity, a chronic disease with escalating global prevalence, poses considerable health risks. Glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), including liraglutide, semaglutide, and tirzepatide, have demonstrated efficacy for weight loss in clinical trials. The paradigm shift in the approach to obesity management drugs (OMDs) may offer an opportunity to examine online search activity and prescription trends.

A large proportion of genetic variations involved in complex diseases are rare and located within noncoding regions, making the interpretation of underlying biological mechanisms a daunting task. Although technical and methodological progress has been made to annotate the genome, current disease-rare-variant association tests incorporating such annotations suffer from two major limitations. First, they are generally restricted to case-control designs of unrelated individuals, which often require tens or hundreds of thousands of individuals to achieve sufficient power.

The stomach is responsible for physically and chemically processing the ingested meal before controlled emptying into the duodenum through the pyloric sphincter. An incompetent pylorus allows reflux from the duodenum back into the stomach, and if the amount of reflux is large enough, it could alter the low pH environment of the stomach and erode the mucosal lining of the lumen. In some cases, the regurgitated contents can also reach the esophagus leading to additional complications.

Background: Circulating tumor cells and clusters (CTC) from soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) that become entrapped in the lung can form micro-metastases and lead to pulmonary metastatic disease. Many patients with localized high-risk STS later develop metastases. Radiation is effective at reducing local recurrence by eradicating microscopic infiltration and satellites in the reactive zone surrounding the primary tumor.

The suppressors of cytokine signaling (SOCS) genes were first described in a group of articles published in 1997. Since that time, much has been learned about the functional activities mediated by the corresponding proteins encoded by the SOCS genes. The SOCS gene family contains eight members: through and a highly related gene known as (cytokine-inducible SH2-containing protein).
